Completely false. The oldest kid has been praised even very recently as a great player and great kid. The focus has been on the parent's influence, directives, and ultimatums regarding his kid, and forcing choices when she was athletically and academically well equipped to start out at and spend 4 great years at a strong D3. He did not allow that to be an option he would support, and he we can pull up numerous quotes by him, signed in and anonymous, where he makes this perfectly clear.

The med school "promise" thing is probably the singlemost absurd notion that BTDT has floated. At most, the "promise" could be that IF the athlete met the basic standards for admission to Duke's medical school, she would be admitted--without having to compete for admission against the many other applicants who also meet those basic standards. This advantage is not nothing--but it is a far cry from the "promise" that BTDT has concocted or imagined.
