Yes.. you are correct... HE makes a lot of $$$; not his coaches....they barely live on what he pays them.. no wonder they are all stressed out and taking handouts from parents....

This has nothing to do with tryouts.... it is merely the state of STARS in this soccer world. It is extremely unfair and aggravating to the rest of us.

It remains to be seen if JD can pull of what he is trying to do... he uses that ECNL card to recruit players and then torture them....

Needs to be said, JD is afraid to go against quality Mass teams in ECNL, aka NEFC, MPS, SSS among others. Not sure why this clown gets the power to leave out all the other quality Mass clubs who could actually compete in ECNL. What a disgrace to the game, I hope his field plans leave the Stars bankrupt. What's the point of playing a years worth of games against bad teams like Scorps and Soccer Plus, not to mention the $10,000 worth of travel.

Sounds exactly like what the big clubs are doing to the smaller clubs with NEP and USCS. Go back, reread those threads and you'll find your answer. Maybe you should just merge with Stars or Breakers??

When did MPS, Aztec, SSS, ever beat this particular Stars team? NEFC has, and they're a very good team. But the rest of those teams have never beaten, or even tied, this team. This team gets better with every season, adding a new player or two that is better than your very best players. Playing the other MA teams now would be even less competitive than before, and a waste of time for both sides. Sorry, but his team doesn't play at your level.

There are easier ways to get to play college sports. If your daughter is a good athlete pick another sport with less competition (lacrosse, field hockey).

Why bother with ECNL, save your money (put into a college savings plan). 4 years of ECNL would pay for a year of college.

You could endure 4 years of mental abuse at the hands of JD.

I hate to tell you but if you put the money that you have invested into soccer from grade school, you could pay for college

Agree, most of those kids will not be playing college in 2 years and will have to live with the JD nightmares the rest of their lives. The parents will finally figure out that it wasn't worth it. The parents should be brought up for child abuse. It's only a matter of time.

The biggest knock against the Stars girls program is that the system is designed to only work if they are playing with girls on the same team. They play well as a team but the skills an independent thought has been beaten out of them.

You are right again! He only cares about a select few elite players. He uses the other players in the club to subsidize this elite group. I wonder how he sleeps at night...

WE probably won't be in the ECNL-- life isn't fair-- we all know that-- but mark my words, buddy, it will catch with JD and STARS-- the reign will be over.....

Your club uses ALL it's players to subsidize their personal bank accounts and no player gets anything in return...so how dumb are you...you won't get into ECNL but your club will pad their pockets with your money...and they only thing catching up with JD will be better and stronger players and better and stronger teams...hate Stars all you want it just shows how envious you are.

Stars can't possibly win, when you set up the argument this way. Nice going.

If they win, it's because they don't develop good players and the girls are just plugged into a system (that must mean that the coaching and talent is very good, but you'll never admit to that). If they lose, it's because they don't know how to coach their talented players, or the talent is watered down, or they're in decline, etc.

Unfortunately, the same criticisms can be made of your club - no matter what club you're from. You don't win enough because either the coaching isn't very good or because the talent is way too limited. If your record is decent, we all know that you're playing very weak competition.
