Call me crazy, but diluting ECNL sounds about as smart as having girls play DA who don't belong playing DA.

In terms of soccer that is, makes perfectly good business sense.

It's a transition option they can exercise should they end up with too many players -- and can probably be done on an age group by age group basis. For the combined years, there are less impacted players per age group. If there is a lot of turnover, they can just put in 1 team.

I actually don't think it is a crazy idea if the talent is there at a larger club that is multiples the size of other division clubs and the 2 teams would be competitive. Look at PDA -- supposedly their top talent went to GDA, yet their ECNL teams are holding their own.

How much panic can 3 players from all of the NE create?

PDA appears to have had the same problem as stars. They have two diluted teams.

Yes, but if they re-align and form A/B teams out of the same pool, will that B team be competitive compared to the rest of the NE ECNL division? If they are, then all that really says is their scale and available player pool allows them to field 2 teams appropriate for the division. The B team would likely be better than some other clubs. If the quality and depth isn't there, then they shouldn't enter the team, but they can see how it shakes out with tryouts. Some ECNL clubs have their ECNL team and then there is significant dropoff to the NPL team.

Sounds complicated. Just to keep it simple: if you want year-round top level development go to the USS Development Academy. For a 2nd and 3rd tier part-time experience go to ECNL.

Maybe on the boys side. Girls side is where the club with the most YNT players in 2015 drop GDA, GDA replaces them with Oklahoma Energy or some damned club, and GDA declares vicory. GDA is where a team from Florida travels 4 teams to North of Atlanta and promptly loses all games by a combined score of 42-0. That is some quality competion right there!

I know, but the league is called DA, so that makes up for it

Fact is, the ship you refer to as USS Development Academy is rapidly sinking. No amount of jawboning from you BBA shills can patch the leak. Bail now, or ride it all the way to the bottom. Your choice.

That sounds right. It is the height of delusion for Stars parents to think DA will fold just beacause 3 board members of ECNL are leaving. It’s a drop in the ocean for the US Soccer Development Academy nationwide.

BBA takes it to the national level as Stars burn out. I don’t have a player in either club, but you have to admit it is fun to watch. Pass the popcorn.

It's only girls soccer. Take a deep breath.
