These are literally some of the best schools in the country, such as Yale, UMASS, and Syracuse.

It's not a showcase, you do have to qualify. For ECNL U14s it is top 2 and other age groups the top 4 out of 12 that qualify. For Florida NPL it is the top two out of 14 or 16 that qualify.

NPL or ECNL, great to have so many Florida teams representing.

Its practically in their back yard, they should be going. This is the best tourney to go to and why sending FL boys to west coast is a waste of time and money.

Orlando U17 tied TBU last night. That might of cost them a top four finish.

so, in using your logic, no kids from Florida/Georgia etc go to college west of the Mississippi...??? there are many kids from SE states who have a high level of interest in West Coast colleges... so if you are so narrow minded that you don't look to do any west coast showcase events then you are doing a disservice to your kids. we are lucky enough to have an event right in our backyard (Sanford) that brings in many of the colleges east of the Mississippi. So in order to reach colleges on the west coast, you head that way and get seen by them.

I think that was the whole point of the thread before the DA conversations started...

Good for Southeast conference teams and some representation from Florida.

In fairness to Miramar in regard to the U14s the Florida and Pennsylvania events don't have a U14 division. In years past there was a U14 showcase in South Carolina but they did away with it.

Regardless. Still think it was pointless to spend all the time, money and resources to go to San Diego with a bunch of 7th and 8th graders. Especially at the possible cost of not being able to go to ENCL National Playoffs. Not to mention they went and played three games instead of playing two against conference opponents that are, on paper and by result, pretty good games.

When people start of with "using your logic", it typically means they themselves aren't using any. Just go back and look at at the number and quality of schools that have showed up for San Diego vs PA for the boys previously. The number and quality of schools showing up in SD is unimpressive, especially when compared to PA or Sanford. Not only am I speaking from experience there are plenty of threads on this forum and others discussing the same.

No doubt you will reply some absurd or uninformed comment to defend your post, but you will still be wrong.

Smart one, ECNL players are looking to get scholarships even if from D2 schools, want the exposure and expenses or some paid and showcasing themselves academically as well.

DA works in the West and North, down here i am sorry we are not there yet as well.

Let's see how they do. Miramar's U15 and U17's did well in league play. The U16's were their worst team.

Not the OP but in reading what they wrote it seemed to be about hitting all parts of USA in regards to college recruitment. not the quality of the schools attending... everyone can say their opinion of what they feel is a quality school so not gonna go there... but pretty sure an east coast school isn't going to SD and a west coast school isn't gonna go the FL or PA. my kid has been to both SD and PA and FL and all were good and beneficial..
