Not a lot of kids to choose from relative to other parts of the state. I think the better players from these two clubs move on to Oakwood so that also hurts them a little bit. Southeast have put their “Cadillac” coach TB with the youngest players and he sets them up for future success with a decent cast of coaches at the older levels. Not many clubs have a TB to lean on.

And in those Class S programs, what percentage of the players actually play for SE? And for those Hand boys, how many of them are playing club soccer for SE?
Wouldn't that be an important factoid here to justify your claim?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI can see it as trolling for sure. It also can be SSC propping up their club. They have struggled for past couple of years and they will have significant challenges ahead of them with new threats to their program. Doca split off and is pulling players, not the best players but will still have impact on them. Rush is also competing with them and is pulling more players from them. On the Rhode Island side you now have GPS setting up shop in Westerley and that is more competition. Lastly, you still have Oakwood that attracts some of their best players. They will have a difficult time attracting and retaining players. Also factor in that there is a culture of arrogance that runs through the club which is distasteful for many. If they don’t change their customer service approach they will deteriorate much quicker. They cannot keep doing the take it or leave it approach with families because people will take their business to the many alternatives that now exist. I think they will be fine but some serious house keeping is in order.

Eastern part of CT has no population base. Just not enough players to go around. Just going to dilute the player pool. Southeast is still the top dog but they are definitely in a precarious position. Doca and Rush definitely hurting them. GPS will now start to pull from RI.
