Playing D1 is a terrific accomplishment even if you are at a mid tier school like MAAC or NEC conference. QU And Sacred Heart are now realizing Even in their conferences they cannot rely on CFC players. QU has already started to shift away from CFC recruits. If you are playing in a NESCAC school you are at same soccer level as many D1 programs and you are getting first class education with connections for life.

That and many decide they don't want their entire college experience to be dominated by sports. D3 is still a big commitment but not nearly the same as D1. With D1 it's practically impossible to do lengthy internships or study abroad.

My kid's off to an excellent school, studying what she wants, gets max merit and going to keep playing. What's not to love

Congratulations to all that get to keep playing

MANY is a very strong word in your argument. Please list 5 D3 teams that would “kick the crap” out of D1 programs. And which D1 programs are you basing this claim on?
There definitely aren't 5. Chicago and Williams would are in line with mid Major D1 programs and no better than that.

Bottom half of the NESCAC would get their doors blown off Fairfield, QU, CCSU, SHU etc.

you can study abroad at d1
and D3 is way more of a commitment than you think- they just have different rules
especially the NESCAC which try and be ivys and use their rules

Everyone has lost their way on this thread.

Im of the opinion that in November of senior year you have signing ceremony for those inking an NLI. That's D1 and D2 athletes that are formally committing.

Spring of senior year you celebrate all other athletes moving onto to college sports. That includes preferred walk ons in D1, D2 and D3.

"November Signing" ceremonies for Roger Williams and other D3 programs isn't genuine and like others said is driven by participation trophy parents.

This is not a discussion of D1 v D3. There are huge merits to both. One of mine was a D1 recruited athlete but decided that her pre-med path with labs etc wouldn't work for D1, no shame in that. My other does business and she's D1. It's individual, not good or bad.

PS. The one in D3 didn't sign a fake NLI

for all those morons who think what they read on this site is it info on commits can be found on many resources like NE Soccer Journal and TopDrawer Soccer
and for the bloated parents on this site who wish to bash others for their accomplishments choice of schools or division chosen less than 1 % of you would even make the cut

                          - very limited ability to do study abroad more than a few weeks, more the exception to the rule

                          - Poster said D3 is a big commitment but it's still not the same as most D1 programs

So who got the most commits?

I think that was the original question

Majority goes to the other more popular sports.

As it is with schools, pay to play/attend, know many whose kid could not get into a name brand school without daddy or mommy footing bill. Welcome to 21st America, not the land of opportunity unless you are wealthy.
