I don't blame them. Coaching doesn't pay well and it's the club owners that make the money. Parents are price sensitive to a certain degree so it's unlikely they'd pay the large fee increase to pay coaches a more livable wage. Having a soccer side hustle can keep you from having a bar tending side hustle.

The side hustle doesn't work if you're a bad coach. There's a reason why certain coaches have successful private coaching businesses.

The coach of a team that is marketing a side business to his players is creating an obvious conflict of interest.

Yet it happens All. The. Time. Some clubs forbid it, many look thrbither way as long as it doesn't become a big issue. A simple rule would be coaches can't have kids from their own teams. Solves the conflict issue and perceived favoritism.

If you can afford it the extra training is very good. Don’t hate the people that can afford to have their kids get better. Just like getting a tutor for math.

Most Ft coaches earn $50-60k, It's certainly not the worst for the hours worked.

Nothing anything close to that unless they're coaching 4 teams, which is too many.

how many full time coaches do you think clubs have ? Maybe the owner if they also coach and the DOC, most clubs in CT work with a small back office that work the admin stuff full time and coach on top for that $50-$60k a year so the hours worked are not worth the money plus this only accounts for the 1-3 staff at most that are actually full time, if you think every coach in CT is full time then you are misguided. Most clubs pay between $2k-$12k per team per year or $30-$60 per hours based on club, team and competitive level of play (cjsa, npl , EDP,GA ect...)

CFC is very "coach friendly" in this regard. They allow all sorts of stuff to go on which creates a clear conflict of interest. In the end, CFC and their coaches on staff simply see each kid/family as a opportunity to make a buck. Maximize profits in an unregulated environment.

Jealous much? This is why the people with money will have the better teams. They can afford the extra training.

The same way very few kids from Hartford, Bridgeport, Meriden, Norwalk or Stamford are going to Harvard or Princeton

                            Cheshire

Cheshire United has some good young coaches. DP, a former quinnipiac standout, coaching a young girls team. I would like to see a guy like him continue to grow and see where he lands.

Great question. Ask if the coach has an accent, as this is an indicator that they are the best of the best.

Or, just play local. You aren't going to get rich at this. It's just a game. Do you even watch pro soccer?

Where the f*ck did you get that number? FT coaches earn on average 40K a year. That means coaching 2-3 teams and doing extra training like clinics, summer camps, winter training, and U-littles (2-5 years old). It's a hustle to do it year in and year out.

AND that all depends on the club you work for. lots of scum in this business.
