Right. But I think they meant she wouldn’t have gotten the National player of the year award it CA kids were included. Obviously they weren’t bc their season just started.

Look at who gets tapped most often for nt call ups and top D1. Tons of kids from CA, TX etc. We have a unicorn every few years.

you are all Aholes (assuming each posts was written by a different individual) how Fn miserable is your life that you would degrade an award given to an obviously righteous and deserving kid. you would give up your right nut to get it for your kid so you could feel important
Holy **** Stamford, UCLA? texas or cali-im sure they get their awards that we arent part of and good for them, but guess what this kid got ours and it says National
why cant people just be happy for other people and let it go at that
i give you 3 the" National Nattering Nabobs of Negativity" award-- but im sure there is a bigger bunch of Aholes in cali or texas that are far more deserving

Well...not to nit pick, but I can think of one. She never won a LL championship! The real state championship.

Nice honor and good for her resume. St joesph university coach probably not happy she spurned him after the commit. Seems to be a pattern by yankee players. I think the yankee brain trust encourages thier top players to say yes to the first thing that comes along so they can say they have college placements. They probably tell them they can always trade up if another better college comes along.

not wayne but who cares- opinions are fine but why the negativity?
personally i thought she played better last year and the year before but she just was awarded something great-why do people feel the need to piss on it- especially people, myself included who have never been close to being up for such an award

Not the posters mentioned above, but to play devils advocate, she’s clearly not the best player in the country. Isn’t that what the award is supposed to be for? She’s not even close. It just goes to show the politics involved. If people don’t want the criticism, they shouldn’t put players forward that don’t deserve it. Certainly not the kids fault, but cmon.

their award their choice- the beauty of this country is if you want to go find the better player name an award and give it to them

Doesn’t answer the OP’s question. Which states were eligible for the award. They call it “National” but as someone else mentioned, some powerhouse states are winter sports and some may even be spring? Do they have another Player of the year for Soccer upcoming?

After Gatorade State Player of the Year awards are announced, a Gatorade National Player of the Year is selected. Each sport’s pool of male and female state winners is evaluated further on the program’s three pillars – athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character.
