Why is SCP even brought up unless ur daughter in on the “very good” team. Lol. What makes the oldest SCP team very good. Can’t wait for this answer.

It’s been a while since anyone has put SCP under the microscope. Here is my update:

Boys 2007 (and younger) - Very Good. Nate R. has done a tremendous job with the younger boys. Bright spot for SCP.
Boys 2006 - Terrible
Boys 2005 - Terrible
Boys 2004 (and older) - A hot mess! Or non-existant!

Girls 2007 (and younger) - terrible
Girls 2006 - Good team
Girls 2005 - Very Good team
Girls 2004 - Weak
Girls 2003/2 - Weak
Girls 2001 - Very Good team

SCP was a once proud soccer club who can still recover but they really have to restructure and reevaluate what they are doing. Biggest problem is their staff. With exception of Roland and Nate they have no coaches who will attract families to their club. They can’t have these guys coach every team.

SCP needs to seriously try to negotiate with Shoreline FC. Shoreline have no girls teams and have a couple of decent boys teams. If those two groups could figure out a way to come together you would have the beginnings of a decent club again. If they don’t combine they will both just continue as struggling, failing soccer clubs. Perfect example of how CT Soccer has become so diluted.

You seem to be a know it all, you should step in and coach. They could use someone like you. SCP would then be back on the map.

these cfc people are nuts. Yes, because CFC Sound, CFC Orange, CFC Real, CFC Valley and all the other depots are excelling. Those branches all stink. more than SCP. Talk about money grabs. Some of the worst coaching in all the land. And if you are talking about the 25 kid herd at CFCU, where there are kids buried on the bench... what a classless organization

The big collapse is when RK left and went to CFC on the girls side(8 or 9 years ago). Many families and players followed. RK just started at Choate as well.
Also during that time their boys academy was horrible. They were getting killed every game.
Unfortunately, there is no one left now.
They are outdated.

When Rick left he brought two full teams on the girls side. SCP could have avoided his departure by just paying him more. They lost Adam as Girls DOC shortly thereafter. The DA was unsustainable and they had to “partner” with Beachside. I think everyone except SCP management knew then that they were in a death spiral. They have not changed or adapted. They do not control their own facilities. If they are to survive they should seriously look at partnering with ShorelineFC. That would consolidate their groups and strengthen their programming. Shoreline FC would greatly benefit from this merger as well.

Never referenced gotsoccer. That team has been solid for several years. I don’t think SCP is a strong club but that team is a good team with some good players.

No, I could not help SCP. I am familiar with their club though and they need an infusion of coaches. They should build their staff around Roland and Nate, their two best coaches. Maybe make the two of them DOC’s. They need at least 2-3 new quality coaches. The teams that thes coaches are running are in good shape. Just about every other team is a mess.

Gotsoccer is basically a best of the rest.

SCP 2001 is a nice team. Decent varsity players from the SCC. No superstars but several with get recruited to D2 and D3. They can accomplish this from SCP easily. Their best player left to United at U15.

No that would be FSA ECNL parents. The lists from the two clubs are not even close.

Yes, they are close. CFC will send several girls to D1 programs every year. After you take out colleges that CFC coaches are coaching at (Sacred Heart, Wuinnipiac) it’s 2-3 players. Then it is a whole lot of Endicott, West Conn, Assumption, etc...Don’t be fooled by the hype.
