Heard it from a friend....2001 girls are just now being told there wont be a team in the spring season. Nice move, you couldn't have told them sooner than now?

aren't they graduating? I'd think they'd have better things to do than worry about club soccer at that point.

Party ends going into senior year of HS. The only 2001s really playing club soccer are those that are headed to play college ball. OW, CFC and FSA. Most other U18s have their soccer career come to end in a few weeks when their team gets bounced from the CIAC tourney.

A lot of these kids love the game. Many towns field a U19 travel team. Minimal practice and allows girls to play and have fun. If hell bent on a more organized experience, you might also look into Wolves and Sound. Always have U18 teams and almost always have roster spots for spring of senior year.

PS. No one is really outraged by your post. This happens every year.

Not the thread op...yes most seniors stop playing if they won't be playing in college, but not all. Thanks to USSF and the calender mandate not all may be seniors. Buy telling players this late is bad form. The club should have pressed for commitments earlier to make sure they'd have enough players. They also could have younger players play up.

There’s still plenty of time to find a team. Spring won’t atart until April. At least they didn’t wait until closer to the season.

CFC United is right up the road. They should have a United NPL team for that age. This isn't U13 or 14, no need for tryouts at that age. They will definitely be willing to add girls to their NPL squads

The don't run a senior year NPL team, just ECNL. There's basically 6 teams in the NE to play. There is a chance for the composite team

Most clubs do supplemental tryouts early to mid November if they have spots remaining. Finding a senior year team is tough as there aren't many

The "composite" ECNL team is pretty much an NPL team.

The HS season isn’t even over. Several teams will run supplemental tryouts. Don’t feel bad for the girls, they will be fine.

And people like you are the reason soccer in this country stinks. It's about soccer!!! Not "better things". Kids want to play soccer!
