Sure but is helpful to understand what this thing is. Do college coaches look at it? This site was never mentioned by my coach or DOC (very reputable club in a top league). Is it useful to put your player on there and try to rack up star? Hard to do that if you dont know what a criteria are used to rack up stars.

If one way is to attend events where lists are published then maybe that is a reason to go to ODP or ID2 etc. If High school accolades are used then maybe it is a good idea to play school ball. do they award stars for certain leagues over other leagues.

Looking at the current list - I see some top players there and some are not even on the list. Why?

If you have this many questions then you need to talk to your kids coach or DOC....WHO YOU PAY!!! If they can't help you then I would definitely say that should tell you something. Getting free info on TS isn't necessarily bad but you get what you pay for!

this is very accurate; i will add that the "star" and td articles are generated once there is a bit of buzz about a player which in turn motivates the td writers to make a point of walking over to your game and watching your kid. That might not happen, but that doesn't mean they are not good. They have 1 to 2 scouts at most per event. Often times you will see them do a write up on 3-4 girls on the same team because that's the game they saw.

On the flip side, we had an extremely average goalie that happened to make a couple of huge saves in a row and td must have been walking by, so she got a mention as one of the top goalies to watch for (no stars).

So it can be very haphazard, but obviously, if a kid is consistently standing out, they will generate interest and naturally will get attention, including from td.

However, rest assured that coaches will be aware of top girls (with a bunch of stars) before td is. The stars most often come after all the attention. Td is rarely in the business of "discovering" players, but rather on reporting on them, once they have been discovered already.

What exactly is your question? Did juniors or seniors get contacted after the showcase? Yes! Freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. That's the whole point of the showcases. The coaches are there to actively recruit, not to have a picnic with crap food, gross porta-potties, and mostly mediocre soccer.

The rules favor the college coaches. Don't call us, we'll let you know if you can call us. Come to camps, and we'll watch you but we can't talk to you. We will OFFER only when you are a Junior and it gives us more time to evaluate the players.
