It would be more accurate to say it doesn’t matter to a majority of Americans. No wealth of statistics and no wealth of money. While the rest of the world cheers over a good defensive tackle or a great pass....perhaps a save...most Americans wonder if they need to watch the whole game if one team scores in the first 20 minutes.

.....and let’s not compare soccer to hockey....on any level. Hockey is faster, tougher, has more saves, defensive plays, passes, and goals.....and....no flopping.

Maybe soccer player would score more goals if they were better athletes.

Or if they played on a field the size of a hockey rink.

Soccer development of the USA as a country is starting to pick up but I don’t see them being in the top four for another 30 years. The competition is just too stiff but if we keep this up we’ll get there.

Every step forward we take other countries take 1.5, and they were already 10 steps ahead to begin with

Well...indoor soccer and futsal are exciting to watch. Current athletes playing soccer are quite good......but......soccer, local or worldwide, is simply not associated with stats or goals. You either appreciate the play of the game or you don't. Americans are used to the nauseating stats like those in baseball....so and so pitcher throws 75% strikes on Tuesdays in September when the temperature is < 65 degrees and a more than 40% chance of rain......with runners on second and third.........

I agree and was being sarcastic with the “size of hockey rink” comment. Mister “hockey is so much better because of scoring” clearly does not understand soccer, the beauty within the game, and probably never will even try. But this is the problem with most Americans to be fair. Are used to be the same way until I took the time to start watching it religiously.

If it's that hard to recognize beauty then it's probably in the eye of the beholder, and hence, not really beautiful at all.

Please stop with all this other countries stuff. This is MA Talking Soccer.
We care about our own kid, our own choices, and putting down your choices. We care next to nothing about NT unless our kid nakes it, and absolutely nothing about the general state of soccer - unless one of those cute girls are playing like Alex, Julie, or even Megan. As for your 3rd tier athlete boy.... consoder that we actually prefer to watch curling

No we are taking 1.5 steps they have either plateaued or are taking 1 step or less. We are just many steps behind.
