He is implying that no one reported this kid, when in fact this kid had been on school admin radar for a long time. Parkland kicked him out, passing the buck to another school (as districts often do), kid had a difficult home life what seems to be no access to mental health care. Once he turned 18 he was an adult and would have to be forcibly admitted to a mental health facility by court order. His family could no long force him. Add in easy access to guns. Even then most people ith mental health issues don't turn into mass shootersComment

and that's the rub, even in cases like this, adults with mental health issues cannot be forcibly admitted to a mental health facility without court order. what you can do is prevent them from buying weapons. while the NRA has everyone thinking "Obama will take your guns," what Obama did attempt to do during his presidency was attempt to strengthen background checks to prevent exactly this type of person from purchasing guns. would it have made a difference? may not. but it would not hurt and the responsible gun owners without mental health issues - there are millions of them - would be in no way affected. this is why there is NRA animosity - every minor attempt to limit access to guns by those with mental illness is shot down by the NRA and their flunkies. every time someone suggests that you should have to cross reference a database containing the names of certain individuals with mental health issues before you provide them with an AR-15, someone with more loyalty to the NRA than to the kids of this country screams "libtard."Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
