Unlike last time these two teams played, when Westside dominated the first 20 minutes and faded down the stretch, in this one Westside started out slowly--and needed a pair of early saves out of their keeper to keep the score level. Eventually, WT settled things down, and could have also had a 2-0 lead but whiffed a few clear chances. Midway through the first half, the home team eventually scored on a DFK, the team would soon double their lead when the one player on the team you cannot leave unmarked outside the box, was left unmarked outside the box, and drilled one into the upper corner.
In the second half, Westside dominated possession, but failed to add a goal. CFC's attack consisted mainly of longballs to their wings, but Westside's defense kept them from getting loose, and Capitol seldom threatened in the second half. AJS eventually got subbed out without ever sniffing the goal, and Westside gets their first clean sheet of the year.
The game got a bit chippy in the second half, which each team's center mid getting booked for their trouble. Oh, and Blonde Beaver was there, being her usual charming self, berating both the referees and her son's teammates. Got a bit of comeuppance near the end of the first half when a Westside defender committed an (inadvertent) handball near the center line, and the ref immediately whistled the foul. "ADVANTAGE!!!" she screamed, thinking that CFC had a fastbreak opportunity (she might have been right though it was close, and Westside did have players back), as though the ref could unblow the whistle. Rather than immediately take the restart, play stopped while she continued her harangue from the sideline--when Capitol finally got around to taking the free kick, the ref then blew the whistle for time, ending the half right there.
Next week, Westside travels to Wanker's Corner to play Crossfire, and United PDX heads down to the yard to play Capitol.

TA 1-2 PAC NW
0-0 at half, PAC goes up 2-0 after about 15 minutes of second half play.
PAC player receives a red card about 20 min into the second half. (Fighting on the sideline over the ball, believe pac player showed physical aggression and recieved straight red.)
PAC continued to create opportunities to go up on the score, but RF draws one back for TA.
towards the last 5, TA had a 1v1 and multiple chances to tie the game but failed. Overall quality game on both ends.
