We are from Stamford and NYSC is much closer than Bethany. So easy decision. Careful not to broadly brush all of FC as soft....hang with us here on a Saturday night, and we will show you soft.

Yes saying "FC" describes a lot of people and locations. Stamford to Bethany? No brainer. But Trumbull to Bethany isn't too bad. As for turnout?

        1) A LOT of kids are break this week
        2) They already know probably at least half the roster they want from within CFC if not more
        3) they'll have more than one tryout

However it isn't just about location but also fit - plenty of kids don't want GDA, and those that do don't have many options (OW or NYSC). CFC have no trouble filling the roster, they never do.

Okee dokee - is there a side of the street i should be careful not to walk on in rough and tumbe Stamford, CT? I don't want to offend anyone in such a hard, tough area.

Filling a roster with average players from rich towns who can afford the fees is not going to lead to a quality team....oh yeh, perhaps that is not the objective.

Who is showing up at FSA tryouts? OW? Those clubs also have high fees and similar demographics. CFC is no different and the talent is spread too thin. All of youth soccer is no different. So take cost out of the equation. Then it's a matter of coaching, fit (GDA or no, High school or no), and location (some families can't travel too much no matter how much they'd like to). If you want ECNL in CT there's one club that s better than the other. If you want GDA then your options are OW or NYSC.

It was a food fight. In any other part of the state, the kids would have gone to the office, been told not to do that, and then told to go back to class.

Sadly you are correct sir. Very different treatment based on skin color and district. Some of the crap kids get away with at our "elite" HS amazes me.

Sure. Other than the fact a teacher and the police officer went to the hospital, you’re spot on.

Westhill HS is to Brien McMahon as Stamford HS is to Norwalk HS.
