Once they get there all I do is masked they just get a number and bunch of coaches eval. So basically whatever happens before region camp doesn’t matter and your state coaches are basically down at that point. Then kids get picked to advance. Are all the best players playing ODP absolutely not but their are a handful that are on that chosen list. Either way congrats to all its s a great accomplishment to be proud of. If people have no idea what they are talking about they should just put out the question rather than make sh”t up. Don’t have a kid in it but have been through the process before.
Mass was not the only state - every state that did ODP invited all the kids - they wanted to have enough teams - 16 in total so they could evaluate the best players in 4 games. May not be the best talent but the majority of the 16 teams would compete against any top team whether it be Ecnl, NPL or DA.

Assuming 07s are rising 6th/7th graders, I assume the following to be true
      * The Girls can actually play at this age
      * ODP isn't what it was 10 years ago, so yes, some weak players went
      * Plenty of players on very good teams didn't attend. Yup that's true
      * The R1 Camp is still Hunger Games - no club experience is as brutally honest.
      * Weak got put on camp teams to have fun.
      * Strong got called to pool field and fought. List posted 2X a day, gets smaller each time
      * Those named to R1 pool are good, and will still be good in 3 years.
      * Those named to Boca roster will play with and against some very strong players

Lots of pathways to greatness, and many players will never touch nor never need ODP. But for those that did make the R1 pool, it's a badge well earned. Congrats

Some of those players who made ODP R1 wouldn't be there if other players tried out for ODP. They were the best of the options that were presented to them.

So boo hoo to the girls he didn't try out. You don't get to chose not to participate in something and then say, "Yeah, but I'm better!" Either put yourself out there and prove it, or shut up.

ODP is irrelevant. No one cares about ODP. This isn't the 1990s anymore.

Do the other girls play for teams that do not allow ODP?

That's true of everything in life. I wouldn't have my job if a better candidate was available.
Like it or not, those girls earned the right to say they made the R1 Roster.

True, unless you make the R1 Roster.
You get to go to Boca and get your first taste as a 2007 middle-schooler what is like to play in front of 50+ college coaches in one game.

Boca is a next summer event. This year’s training is in Hershey.

Yes because college coaches are recruiting 6th and 7th graders.
