Have you watched women's college soccer? Athletes first.
Laughable. Athletic ability is always first. Duh. There are 100 kids who can run fast and kick hard. What sets the elite apart is the brain.

Thanks Dad of a boot and run player.

College coaches have to work with what's out there, most of which is fast boot and run players developed by clubs over the years.. They also don't have the time to "develop" players once they get them. Their job is to win - HS on steroids the saying goes

Hahaha or maybe just a boot and slide tackle player or boot and trot (no speed or endurance). But agree 100% the soccer iq is key and is the rare find.

The hysterical thing about this site is everyone universally says that our "speed of play" is too slow to enable us to compete favorably on the world stage yet they all want to have everyone line to join ECNL and DA teams. Aren't the clubs part of the problem or is it only the big bad USSF? Isn't it time to seriously consider alternative paths?

              A few. Out of hundreds.

You got it backwards. She's a run and boot player.

                Showcase weekend goes like this:
Fri: She gets in behind, and then again, and again. In the 1H.
Sat: Same thing as Fri. Team converts 27.2% of the time in 1H, 34.4% in 2H. Opponent Defense good, but they get tired and goals are inevitable.
Sun: Same thing as Sat. We fly home
Mon: Inbox fills up with forwarded emails

Don't get all these posts on recruiting. Just call the coaches at the time they ask, and tell her pick her favorite college

Of course, but you can't win unless the players know how to play. Not every team plays boot and run. Some actually play soccer. You can't play boot and run against a possession team. You'd never have the ball.

Until the physical one steals it and boots it to the fast one.
                    1-0.

Later that day, you come to TS and post about time of possession, the beautiful game, playing the right way using loser phrases like "we had the run of play". Meanwhile all the dads of lacrosse playing sons toast our Daughters' victory. Again.
