The US had the only goal scored during the run of play, and were very close to scoring another. N. Korea, despite all their possession, never even came close to troubling the US keeper.

I don't think anybody is arguing that our current U20 WNT is one of our best. It does not appear to be a particularly talented team. Unlike the last U20 USWNT which won the U20 World Cup in 2012. But even this team was very close to advancing to the semis against a team that most likely has been training together on a daily basis for years.

But like the World Cup champion U20 team of 2012, some of the talent from the current team will advance to the senior national team. And at that level, N. Korea's professionals won't stand a chance against our professionals

The idea that our youth development system is failing because our U20 USWNT lost a game in the quarterfinals of the World Cup against a team of professionals is a joke. Our U20 WNT has won 3 of the last 6 World Cup championships, including 2012, and were a handball in the box away from advancing to the semis in this one.
Keep overlooking the evidence that is all around you if it makes you feel better.

The fact the US players couldn't control a pass and couldn't make a pass is what's troubling. So was the fact that they looked clueless with respect to spacing and movement off the ball.

What evidence would that be? The fact that our U20's have won 3 out of the last 6 world cups? The fact that our senior team is among the 2 or 3 best in the world and has been for decades?

The current U20's lost a quarterfinal game. A game they scored the only goal during the run of play, almost scored another, and only conceded on penalty kicks. Against a team that has been training together on a daily basis for years, and which was a WC finalist as U17's.

Yeah, from that evidence I would conclude the sky is falling, and we should immediately disband ECNL.
