Why are parents of girls so weird about this?

Why the heck do you care if your daughter gets a soccer scholarship? If she earns it, great. But it should be a much higher priority to get her into a school she loves and not limit yourself to who's interested in her soccer skills.

A pre-med track is very difficult for a college athlete. Or other intensive programs.

Several relatives played collegiate sports and now in their late 20's have bad ankles, shoulders, knees. What's so great about that.

Buck up and pay for the best school for her and forget about this scholarship crap.

That and most major programs discourage or prohibit a premed track which is too rigourous to fit with the athletic programming.

There are trade-offs to playing college sports.

You're making assumptions based on lies posted on this forum. All players are playing unless they are injured.

All 22 eh? You might want to check the rules there sparky, only 18 are rostered on game day out of the 22 (or more) that are on the team. So, has yours made the 18, or is she just keeping her fingers crossed that someday she will make a game day roster.

And numerous games. It's not rocket science moron. You act as if the last 4 don't play at all or as if all kids can travel to all events.

                22 or 24? Didnt they say 24?

4 will not travel. That's 1/4th of the games already gone if they don't repeatedly pick the same people aka the families paying for everyone else.

Remaining 18 will play but now you have to split time with 7 other players. 1/2 playing time out the window at least.

You also have discovery players who don't pay but play when they come. Consider that your kid will be playing behind someone soley brought on to get wins. More time gone.

Consider majority of the ecnl girls teams aren't even good enough to dominate oregon let alone some losing to Oregon girls teams so now you are considering you ll be play a FEW good teams (the division they are in is weaker than nwcl) but let's just say they play a good team and get hammered.

Now the 1/2 to 1/4 of the game your kid is playing is now being spent chasing aND watcbing teams play while your kid touches the ball 2 to 3 times a half.

Coaches didn't get any better, some worse. Training is a joke as kids traveling to Portland are finding.

Sounds like great development to me. Along with great ideas of bringing on more players to saved money???

You ecnl parents are smart people.....

And even if everything you say is true, which it clearly isn't, it is still way beyond any TA team, including the Thorns Academy. But then nobody ever argued that TA lemmings were very intelligent...

Typical redirection from the guy who has a lot to lose including living through his kid once his kid quits playing because her dad wished he could play for her and threw her into a scam.

Wouldn't try using logic or common sense with these ecnl nutjobs. They are too far from intelligent and would rather be sheep.

I don't agree with all the ecnl crap but your statement is completely false. No program can prohibit a pre med track and I doubt they discourage it. That's not been my experience at all. In fact many of my teammates at a division 1 college were pre med. Sometime female athletes make the best students. Males, well that's a whole different discussion.

Don't make false statement just because you have some emotional issue with a program.

It must not have been a very intense pre-med program then…perhaps it was just some bio classes…

Most compressed, dual degree, or combined degree programs will discourage students from varsity level participation. There goal is for students to succeed, one of the biggest challenges is time management.

Or lemmings. They like to call everyone else a lemming but fail to look at a picture of one because it will be like looking into the mirror.

You are clearly an idiot. You must have inherited money because you are too stupid to earn it on your own. Go back to your cave idiot.

They might not prohibit but they sure do discourage pre medical track. That's very common.
