Yes all those ECNL are realizing that they were sold a line just weeks after paying for the first installment without their teams practicing yet!

Will there be disappointed ECNL parents after the first year? Yes just like there will be disappointed Academy parents after the first year. Will there be new players stepping into fill the openings in each program next year? Yes because they are NOT THE SAME programs and do not offer the same opportunities.

If the ECNL supporters spent as much time making false accusations about the Academy as the ECNL haters I could understand but so far the only things that have been pointed out that the Academy supporters take as negative are legitimate observations about your coach and the weak schedule.

We have not gone after the Timbers for failing to provide ANY option for the U15's & 16's. Now don't tell me there are 15's &16's on the academy because few of those players are on the team compared to the numbers in each age on the ECNL teams. Unless you are telling me they could not have put together SINGLE age teams from players in the TA/OYSA.
Agreed. It's hard to figure out the mentality of ECNL is bad, but a lesser ECNL (Thorns Academy) is good.

ECNL is for desperate people trying to get offers by living the pipe dream that top schools will have spots open when December rolls around. Seattle U will, but you can spend lots less and still land that offer. For UP and if you are from Portland, you don't need to go to showcases, you just need to get GS to promise the offer and then show up for practice.

You must know something the rest of the country, colleges and a women's national team don't know.

Huh? Using your train of thought then the Thorns Academy is just going to be the ugly step child of ECNL, for desperate people trying to get offers, with less exposure and no chance for U of P.
