      Imagine being player 1-15...

Wondering why everyone else is getting better or the same while you paid 2x more.

How about 11-15 who can’t find anything...

The are being plundered like pirates of the carribean by nearby club(s) and they are losing current players going back to their own clubs for the only reason that the experience isn’t what’s being sold and it’s a little bit of a joke.

        - Coaching isn’t good. These recycled dinosaurs who either don’t care (said by players) or are not capable of doing the job that is advertised. They need better coaches. Not ones that look good on paper but ones that are good at what they do.

        - The standard is terrible for most of the teams. Kids not showing up here and there. Players leaving for better teams.

        - Pathway to pros is turning out to be pathway to the same as everyone else if not worse for some players.
Out of respect for the family we shall not speak.

Almost as bad as being the 02 Thorns starter who lost her spot to a 13 year old.

Talent has a stronger say than $$$ spent on travel. Jus sayin.

It's an academy, not a neighborhood youth club where the coach has to keep the rich mommies happy. If you can't beat out a 13-year-old, you lose your spot.

Besides--I thought the Thorns were all B-teamers anyway. Are you telling me that a B-teamer should be preferred over a hot talent, simply by virtue of being their first?

She was a good keeper when she was at Washington Timbers, THUSC, and Crossfire Premier.

She would have still been a good keeper playing local.

Not sure why we are even talking about someone who could very well not play in 4 years of college. The last top keeper from this area that had accolades much better than this one is still struggling to find time.

I will say that ECNL probably helped her connect with ND coaches and probably gave her some credibility in their eyes. But her skillset is hers and that's what the ultimately recruited her based on.

What you leave out is academics plays a major role as well for scholarships. If a incoming player can get academic money the soccer program has to give less leaving more for recruiting other players. Coaches like it. ND is fortunate

Maybe and maybe not. With a keeper it is a little luck and depends who is in front of you. Going to Stanford you are going to compete against the very best and only one keeper gets to play at a time. I am sure Lauren would have started at most programs including ND, but is still happy about her choice of schools.

National team player. You know very little of her if you think you go to Stanford and the national team and not start at ND or any other school they want to. Give me break. Stanford won 2/3 years the title.

                          Smokes this nd wannabe
