Is there another site than gotsoccer that posts team rankings?
Gotsoccer seems pretty inaccurate.
None are accurate except each specific league (GDA ranks GDA teams, ECNL ranks ECNL teams, Regional League ranks those participating teams, NPL ranks those, etc.). Unfortunately, there does not appear to be one site that ranks every team accurately.
Agree gotsoccer is a joke, think youthsoccer is More accurate but they both have their flawsTeams play 20 crap tournaments and think they are top dog but lose or tie teams ranked way down who don’t do ton of tournaments. That all being said they are both fun to look it up

Youth Soccer Rankings is WAY more accurate than GotSoccer because GotSoccer only uses gotsoccer tourneys/cups. YSR is flawed but at least uses ALL games they can find. Our state rankings are so far off it’s ridiculous (diff state) on GotSoccer. Funny thing is teams just play in a bunch of crappy got soccer tourneys to amass points and then get accepted to Surf. So dumb. But it’s to the lowest divisions of Surf so no one cares.

Youth Soccer Rankings has GPS U17 boys ranked #7.
FC Dallas is ranked #14. They would beat GPS 8-0.
Philadelphia Union is ranked #32. They would beat GPS 6-0.
Seattle Sounders are ranked #97. They would beat GPS 10-0. They just won the GA cup.

Same in our state. Youthsoocerrankings.com is mostly spot on and updates after each game.
Youth soccer rankings relies on head to head results (its an ELO rating system I think) so to rank teams across regions/leagues it needs a reasonable sample of cross-region games to base that off of. The problem with DA teams is they only play each other - no open showcase tournaments or anything like that - so the system will struggle to rank them correctly relative to non-DA teams. Outside of this issue I think its pretty accurate. Certainly better than got soccer which just relies on volume and gaming tournament points.

Some of these teams that chase "points" also send guest players from different teams within their club to get results at these crap tournaments. Why? So they can inflate their ranking and use that for marketing and getting into better "crap" tournaments. Whole ranking game is so phony.
No way are many of those teams costing 2 grand a year. That said - youth sports are a multi billion dollar a year industry.
It's an average and I agree $2,000 is a good average as I know many well above that. And, that was just one age group. But, now you know why there are tons and tons of items dedicated to youth sports.
Imagine if some of that money was used to fix other more pressing issues, healthcare, drinkable water worldwide, feeding the hungry, education, etc.

So, are you advocating that the government take more of our dollars for these concerns, and leaves us less for own enjoyment?
