Are you referring to specific triggering events or just general changes that take place every year?

Really just starting the conversation but with GDA making changes and the possibility of them either allowing High School soccer or not. I wonder what will be the landscape for this age group and will players leave their current club to either be a part of or not s part off the switch

Yes, GotSoccer is biased towards teams playing more tournaments and not actually winning all of them. GotSoccer is all about the points, nothing more.

At YouthSoccerRankings, the top 25 looks like this:
1 PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY US CLUB STRIKERS [1] 36.65
          2 HOWELL UNITED SC FIRE [74] 33.81
3 MATCH FIT ACADEMY FC ECNL [82] 33.72
4 NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY FIRE EDP NL [87] 33.68
5 PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SHORE FLASH [138] 33.35
          6 SSG RENEGADES [148] 33.31
          7 PRINCETON SA NATIONAL [181] 33.03
8 WATCHUNG HILLS SA NJ ELITE LEEUWIN [209] 32.81
9 WEST MORRIS SC PREMIER RED [224] 32.73
          10 SJEB RUSH ACADEMY [239] 32.62
          11 NJ FIRE FC WHITE [247] 32.59
          12 MORRIS UNITED SA USYS [252] 32.57
          13 GREATER FLEMINGTON SC BARCELONA [271] 32.46
          14 HADDONFIELD SC UNITED [282] 32.43
          15 NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY A GAME [286] 32.41
16 PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY NORTH NPL [292] 32.39
17 PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY SOUTH NPL [322] 32.25
18 CEDAR STARS ACADEMY MONMOUTH DA [329] 32.22
19 MORRIS UNITED SA STA NPL [336] 32.19
          20 GPS NEW JERSEY SOUTH [340] 32.17
          21 PARSIPPANY SC ACADEMY BLUE [420] 31.91
22 FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP YS ELITE PHENOM [422] 31.91
          23 WALL SC STRIKERS [471] 31.74
24 NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY NORTH UNITED NPL [507] 31.64
25 PRINCETON SA WILDCATS ELITE NPL [522] 31.59

The difference is that YouthSoccerRankings rewards teams for beating stronger teams, or teams ranked higher. The problem with YouthSoccerRankings is that if you play a team from PA ranked in the Top 10 in Eastern PA, it doesn't reward you.

That's some listings and even better website regarding the rankings and head to head information. That site makes way more sense than GOTSOCCER. I would only hope that tournament directors use this website over GOTSOCCER. Not saying anything is wrong with GS, but looking at this website and clicking on just random teams I was impressed in how they compiled the information from YEARS back.

Then send tournament directors the youthsoccerrankings website. Does anyone have any idea who is in charge of ensuring that comparable, competitive teams play each other? At EDP? At the major tournaments in the region?

I know that most teams would always want to play higher ranked teams, and if they get smoked, the coaches on the losing teams always points to the tournament directors for match ups. The truth is, the coaches on the outmatched teams are almost always pushing to play higher, even if they get killed.

Oh its not that serious to me but looking at the website it would be a way to not only create good matchups in tournaments but also can help flight teams in various leagues that require or look to flight teams based off strengths. And you are spot on when coaches put their kids in a situation that doesn't match the coaches ego or ability. I mean nothing wrong with wanting to challenge your team but remember they are kids and sometimes coaches need to know that kids do development at different rates and sometimes you may be against a team that has a group of kids on it that have developed faster. Doesn't mean that you will never catch up just means that they are a little ahead at the moment in the race.
