1.Surprised but agree Medford over Westside in finals
2.Surprised but agree Salem not ready for 00 play. Salem, what’s up?
3.Surprised Eugene was using f bombs. Were players out of control or just not disciplined as far as soccer goes?

RVT will roll Westside in finals like they did last year in league.
A mostly 2002 Capital team is not good enough to play up 2 years. They will cruise to 01 state cup title and the 2000 competition will help them in regionals.
Eugene is a train wreck. Maybe it was just the frustration of getting beat but we heard players on the field cursing each other out including f bombs. They have good olayers who weren’t doing it and stayed under control. But even a few players acting like that spirals the game down. The result was a team completely out of control emotionally. They would have lost the game no matter where their emotions were, but they looked bad losing and behaving like that.

There has been a cancer destroying the Eugene team from within for years. The cancer spreads and causes good to turn bad. The coach and everyone knows but is scared the cancer will come after them if they speak up. Hopefully the DOC takes action before it’s too late.

My daughter plays on Eugene 00/01 and I have no idea what you are talking about. Sure there are some personalities that easier to get along with than others but as far as my daughter and her closer friends on the team are concerned, it’s a good group of girls that love playing soccer. Her only comment from the weekend was that they need time to gel as a team on the field as the 2000’s and 2001’s haven’t played together enough yet. And also that the RV team is good.

One more thing, the two center backs from last year did not go to other teams, one tore her ACL during the high school season and the other had shoulder surgery from an injury high school season.

That is a nice way to frame it.

This is disappointing to hear about Eugene. It is a red card offense to curse at another player, even your own teammate. The officials should enforce the Rules of the Game!

Technically, “Laws of the Game”, but the officials should definitely be enforcing the “laws” regarding red cards for abusive language. I’ve never seen it enforced on the girls side and have heard card worthy bad language at just about every high school aged girls game I’ve seen. OYSA, or whoever governs the officials, are you listening? Please add full body checking with no attempt to go for the ball, pinching, hair pulling and jersey pulling/holding to the list of laws that need to start being enforced.

In general, their is more of a benefit of a doubt given to girls than boys. I see girls get a way with crap fairly consistently that boys simply will not get away with.

It is mostly a referee issue - I usually defend refs on here, but this is something that is on them.

It isn’t Eugene’s fault. It is up to the refs to enforce the laws of the game. Agree with the above poster who says the refs are guilty of not calling these fouls & giving cards to girls. The boys would never get away with that!
