The fact that most of this thread has nothing to do with CTRush says more about CTRush than anything else. Irrelevant for boys and worse for girls. Central Branch is non existent beyond 2010 and the coaches across the board are terrible. A few hundred bucks and a couple of creative ideas and I could buy this club from JS.

Yeah, probably not. JS and thebranch he runs up in Waterbury is a clusternut. He has done a poor job managing that branch and that reflects on him. The Wilton staff are reputable. Prince is well respected across the board, so is Renato. He has done a great job with Wilton and has built up the Elite program at Rush with teams that can compete with any team in the state at their respective age group. The Guilford Branch has Greg who is one of the best coaches in the state. They also have a couple of other guys who do solid jobs and can hold their own. Outside of the ECNL and DA programs Rush is now probably best club in the state. JS has a terrible reputation but he has put together guys that know what they are doing. He should probably turn the Waterbury branch over to someone and get the hell out of the way.

If any of these coaches are really any good then they will be gone soon enough. JS does not pay his coaches well and treats them worse. They will be gone within a year.

What basis are you using to say Rush is probably the best club in the State?

Agree......especially about Greg. I’d recruit him and pay him double/triple for whatever he is paid for the Shoreline Branch. He is an exceptional young coach who also coaches at Hand High School in Madison.

What would that prove? The FCIAC is fine, but not great. Hand would do well there.

I'm curious too. I cant think of anything to substantiate the poster's claims. Other a few solid teams in Wilton and a few good coaches, the rest is just mediocre to poor.

Not that Rush is best in state. After DA and ECNL Rush is likely bes t club. First point is quantity, close to 50 teams across the state. Second is quality, they have branch teams competing for league championships at every age group in state. Also have Elite teams competing at EDP level.

Quantity is no indication of quality. Just ask CFC about some of their branch teams. As for quality you are grossly overstating that measure. Not enough teams there to call it "the best"

I don’t think anything is being overstated. Most people will agree that the Academy programs are the strongest on the boys side and the ECNL on the girls side along with Oakwood’s GDA. Once you acknowledge that, who’s next in line? I used to believe it was Sporting but they took a hit with the split with Vale and will continue to fight and scrap in the Middletown geography. I think the best two clubs in CT (after DA and ECNL) are Rush and AC Connecticut. Rush seems to be lining up with EDP National and AC Connecticut are going club based NPL. These two clubs are clearly growing and consolidating their markets. AC Connecticut the West/Danbury area. Rush has a strong presence in Fairfield County AND the Shoreline.

False lies , sporting ct has grown and is continuing to grow and get even stronger. Vale split took zero kids maybe one or two.gold teams but thats it. Sporting is aligned with edp.and national leauge play who is affiliated with us soccer , they beat rush and oakwood teams and with new turf will grow stronger. It's def run way better now than in the past boys teams are very strong and girls are definitely getting better. Vale is no threat tired of people thinking that ,it's just another pop.club that is taking scraps of other clubs kids who.got cut . It is what it is

I think Sporting got more of the better players and teams but they definitely did not benefit from the Vale split. You have a club that is in direct competition and is motivated to succeed. This will be a problem for both clubs.

You would have to pay him at least double to pry him away. He has a great group of boys at 2002 who he will want to see off to college. So nothing moving in next year or two. Have to imagine he would be a likely target for poaching from bigger club. More likely he will move into college ranks.
