Lorne Donaldson, the head coach at elite Denver youth club Real Colorado (where Mallory Pugh played), and one of the few remaining clubs to still do both leagues (players get to choose which they prefer; it's not like Crossfire Premier would do where DA was the A team and ECNL the B team) comments on the ECNL/GDA war among other things--and rips BOTH leagues a new azzhole. Nothing really new, but it comes from a top youth coach.

* ECNL is trying to ban clubs from doing both (DA doesn't seem to care); his club is being pressured by ECNL to drop GDA. So far he's resisted doing so. (Sounds like he's holding out for special treatment from ECNL, including the right to field TWO teams in each age group rather than just one; says he has enough talented players to do this).
* It's a shame that the league his girls play on limits the opponents they play against, and that it's nearly impossible for the two leagues to play each other.
* It's all ego and both leagues trying to beat each other into submission.
* The whole thing is ruining it for the girls.
