"neutral site fields"???? if you are referring to your local county/state park, you are delusional. (many of these are already being used previous years by clubs). without school fields there simply is not enough field space to accommodate all the teams on LI on saturdays and sundays. (don't forget by November its dark by 4:30pm!!!)

Didn't say it wasn't going to be a clusterfluck, but that's the plan. For example, EDP is telling clubs that they will make fields available in NJ for clubs without home fields. LIJSL has made mention of Soccer Park being available.

And with the collapse of NYCSL there are going to be a lot less teams playing in two leagues and cup competitions this fall, cutting down the number of games played significantly.

good luck with that hypothesis. you obviously have never had the responsibility of organizing, scheduling and maintaining fields of various sizes for various age groups. (its a clusterfuk every year) now your expecting to get the same work done with about 75% less field space available if schools do not permit the use of their fields?

You ever see a monkey trying to fk a coconut? (fyi, it doesn't work) thats what your gonna get if schools don't open their fields.

You could fit it with some creative scheduling, for example weeknight games could become a regular thing. Smaller clubs that have more space than they know what to do with can lend out their fields. There will be cancelled games and some games needing to be played into early december but it can happen.

weeknight games? up until when? school typically gets out between 2:30 and 3:30.
By November there is no daylight by 4:30.

Don't forget people work: the parents of the kids playing, the referees many of them have regular jobs (you think many of them will drive 20-30 minuets and ref. 1 game on a wednesday night?), the coaches work, ect. (for the most part lets assume the workday ends at about 5 yes?).

We are not even yet bringing up the lack of referees available!!!!!!!!

I'm all for thinking positively but logistically its Bullsh-t!!!!!

We all want to be positive for the sake of our kids who missed out this past Spring and now summer as well. There will be no return to normalcy until Spring of 2021. There are so many “moving parts” to this equation that it is a logistical nightmare that is not a priority for most people. Going back to school should be the most important thing on everyone’s agenda as well as parents who need normalcy in their lives as well with work. Soccer is lower down on the list of priorities. I feel for the older players who have worked hard and now are entering the key college recruitment years with no plan of what to expect this year.
