It will be even more lopsided in this environment. With budgets cut as a result of Covid, coaches will have to make a choice on which showcases to attend.

Exactly you dope! There are many college programs that won’t survive this mess! And with the NCAA allowing all Div 1 athletes another year of eligibility many if not all programs will see their recruiting pushed back. This doesn’t include the programs locally and nationally being ended completely. What’s ECNL or any league going to do you for your child then? Enjoy watching your kid play and be thrilled if he or she are able to extend their playing career a few more years on any level! The ramifications of this mess is going to be felt for a while. And the end is not in sight.

In addition many LI teams jump to EDP to get "better competition" only to be stunned to find out after the alignments are published half the teams in your division are also from LI!!!!

Its all a giant sh-t sand which and we all have to take a bite.

COVID and ENYSSA controls who you play, NOT EDP

Your calling someone a dope and then ask what “ECNL or any other league is going to do for your child”? The answer is nothing. It’s what your child will do for themself playing in a specific league if they want to continue to play in college. The league offers you the opportunity to train, compete and play in a competitive environment in league play, college showcases and regional tournaments and that’s all. It’s up to the player to get recruited to be a student athlete. Not the responsibility of the league, club, team. It’s on the player and how much they want it and how good a player they are. Too many parents overlook , ignore or deny the reality of their daughters talent and blame everyone if their kid does not get recruited to their dream colleges instead of being realistic.

There are plenty of players on LI to have a competitive soccer with different division without ever having to leave the island. ECNL, GDA, etc. figured out how to monetize the sport to the max and get people to play for a status symbol which is great for the folks raking it in with a soccer biz and not good for the sport or families or players.

Youth sports have become pay to play nonsense that rewards players with talent and lots of disposable income and separates them from having to compete against talent without lots of disposable income. The horse is way out the barn bur it is a crap situation we are all stuck with.

They'll get as many of Kozy's players and teams signed up as they can and then dump Kozy to the curb.

Kozy has been training the same kids for a few years already. The kids and parents like him and followed him from susa to dix hills and back again.

Correct and he is a really great trainer. If you don't like a hard ass go some place else.
No sugar coating anything about your kid. Good for Kozy!

Yeah! And if you don’t like a low life, semi criminal, coaching your kids you can go somewhere else too! Yeah!

And where would they follow him to? Him going back to SUSA was the result of having no where else to go.

point is the parents and players follow him...this speaks volumes. Patches and clubs don't matter. You find a coach/trainer that you and your kid likes playing for you stick with them no matter wear they go.

That is ridiculous. You act as if soccer families have to budget to consider. Plenty of families don't have the extra cash for the fees at an uber expensive club like SUSA and dont play at clubs like that.

I don't know Kozy well, but I have see large numbers of otherwise reasonable parents follow the worst human beings in the coaching world because they were afraid that their kid would be left behind if they dared question the coach of a winning team.
