    From the CDC

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Americans should prepare for school closings, cancellations of sporting events, concerts and business meetings if the coronavirus spreads in the U.S.

"We should all be dusting off our pandemic preparedness plans and rehearse them very quickly," said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at Vanderbilt University. "The core concept is social distancing."

Keeping it at bay until summer, when schools and colleges are off, would help a lot. Dorms are petri dishes, so are classrooms. It's not always easy for college kids to go home

This will be huge news for about 3 weeks then fade away once people realize what’s happening in real life isn’t matching what the “news” is hyping

Will it? It’s spreading faster than SARS and is very contagious.

Totally agree. You are seeing ground zero in China go from 1,000 a couple weeks ago to 80,000 cases in a few weeks with a 3+% mortality rate which is much, much higher than the current flu (.001% mortality). If the flu was as fatal, you would see 500,000 deaths from the flu to date this season instead of 15,000-30,000 that we actually have. And this is after China has locked down their cities in a way we never could here in the US without rioting and total chaos. Now it’s gone from 1 country (China) to 40+ countries in the span of 2 weeks and 90% of those countries will never be able to contain it because they lack the government control and medical facilities to do so. I never poo-poo this. Good luck, everybody!

Just stop. It’s not that deadly. I think I’ll go get some Chinese food.
