Anyone hear that this tourney isn’t happening? No refs? Out of state teams not welcome?

They were unable to obtain sanctioning from ENY which means that they can get USYSA assigners to get them referees. They may have enough personal connections to round up some referees on their own but it's doubtful.
As for out of state teams, NY State banned out of state teams from practicing or playing in NY weeks ago. I have no idea what SUSA is thinking in still having them on the schedule. It's like they are begging NY State to come in and forcefully shut them down.

RE: Update on Out of State Travel
The following updated information was recently provided by the New York State Governor’s Office regarding Youth Sports and Recreation. As per Eastern New York, and in accordance with New York State Governor’s guidance, it is the responsibility of all coaches to check travel restrictions daily going to and from surrounding states.
Out of State Travel
Travel to neighboring states for practice or play is discouraged, but New York State cannot prohibit such activity; however, keep in mind that such states may be included in the Department of Health's (DOH) travel advisory. Teams from other states cannot practice or play in New York.
There are no overnight stays permissible at this time.
If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me directly at 516-369-0882.

This is on top of the already pre-existing ban on not only out of state, but even out of region teams attending tournaments. On Columbus day a few tournaments on Long Island had to scramble and kick out teams that were west of Queens as the rule in NY for tournaments is in-region teams and out-of-region teams in adjacent counties only.
