This post says it all. This is a bitter parent whose son doesn't get the amount of playing time that he 'deserves'.

Dad, you are teaching your son a bad lesson. Life isn't always fair. You can either bitch about it or work your butt off to do something about it. Being bitter and misplaced blame solves nothing.

      Coached well ?!?

Guy has them playing out of the back at ever turn and they turn the ball over 75% of the time. Has cost them goals and games.

I saw Milford the other night; they have some pretty good talent. Two really good attackers, both good-sized.

Granted their opponent had a horrible night (2 or 3 gift goals and some other gifts that Milford did not cash in on), may have made them look better than they are.

They are 8-1-2 now according to the MIAA. Someone told me it's going to be their first tournament appearance in quite a while.

Much better if they kick it hard and high!! Lots of this team have a big boot, why aren’t they allowed to show it?

One thing you have to realize when you talk about HS soccer and tactics is there is the ideal situation and formation/tactics for every coach and then the reality of what that coach may have to work with.

I think in an ideal world everyone sees the benefit of moving the ball out of the back and playing a possession style game where everyone is on the same page, play at the same speed of play and can handle the pressures of the game. Reality in HS is a "good" team may have 1 or 2 very good soccer players, 3-4 solid soccer players, 6-8 good athletes, and then bodies. So when you are faced with having to play those very good and solid players down the spine of the field, right up the middle, it becomes difficult to utilize the outside backs, who probably are your "good athletes" as the focal point of a possession game.

So be as sarcastic as you want, but sometimes playing the ball long out of the keepers hands or in goal kicks is the best decision for that team.

No one has seen their GK because he plays high school.

                    Poor coaching, or poor execution?

All we hear is that high school soccer sucks, it’s kick and run, blah, blah. Building out of the back, or trying to play, should be encouraged and even applauded. How many teams try to play, rather than chase and chase?

                      Marshfield 2-2 Hingham.

Poor game played by 2 poor teams. I think every team that plays Marshfield knows about the GK situation! 2 more costly errors.

Object of the game is to win. You go ahead and take splice in attempting to play beautiful soccer in your losing effort, I’ll take an ugly win.

No one cares that silver Lake is 9-0 in league play this year. The patriot league is bad just bad.

Put Silver Lake in a legit conference and they have 3-4 losses this year. Even if you put themin the Hock they’d lose multiple games. The Baystate League they’d be barely over .500 playing Newton North, Needham, Brookline, Wellesley, Natick, Walpole and hell they already tied Weymouth so that’s not impressive.

There non league games are home vs Weymouth 0-0, Away they beat Prep 4-3 and home vs BR 6-0

I saw them play Prep. They are the real deal. Unlike your post.

That being said, anything can happen come tournament time. It's really when coaching can come into play both before and during games.

(and 'there non league games...' should be 'their non league games'.)
