    Devil is in details.
MLS only required to field u15, u17 for this league
These are feeder clubs for MLS.
What will MLS do with u19’s and where does that leave the non MLS clubs in this league?
These non MLS clubs are there to funnel players to the MLS clubs. That is why they agree to play them. It makes for easy recruitment for MLS.
Now what about cost? Former DA clubs were subsidized by USSF. They did not pay reffs, tournament fee, or league fees. I expect cost to participate to drastically increase. Minimum 1k plus more travel expenses.
What kind of showcase or tournaments will MLS league organize? Probably will not be as good as before at least for a few years.
Boys ECNL now has the opportunity to establish itself as the best route to college soccer like they are for girls. The ball is in their court.
If your son's favorite movie is Frozen then I am sure he will be happy in ECNL. Otherwise he will be in the MLS league.

But, if you're on an MLS squad and either can't make it as a pro (or don't want to), you'll get plenty more college coach looks than you will elsewhere. Top programs too. Cracking a top roster if you're no in DA is much harder - there's fewer men's spots and many are taken by international players. All depends on what you're aiming for.
MLS league will be supplying majority of players to the country's Top 20 college programs and YNTs. Other top college spots will be filled by internationals.

ECNL boys will be a solid "B" league and will feed players to fill out the rest of D1, D2 and D3 programs.

You ecnl shills are all over spreading misinformation but the reality is there is no A and B tier planned for MLS league. They are all playing at the same level. MLS is just DA with a new name and new boss. It will again be the number one league. Boys ECNL will be a very, very distant B league.

Yes, where the non-MLS get to play MLS clubs 20% of the time and lose their best players to MLS clubs. Sounds like fun!!

Koolaid drinker. You from BS or OW? It will be like it was this season for the older teams - you play an MLS club once every other month in order to make you feel special.

This is literally the entire point of the league. You play some MLS teams, they scout and use the league as an affiliate system. The "Pro Pathway" exists and manifests through this relationship. They play a full 10+ month program and push to be the best they can.
If your children have no professional aspirations then they go play becnl for 6 months, play for middle school and high school teams, get some ice cream after the game and have fun. The best players are still going to go to these same "MLS DA" clubs just like they have the past 10 years. BECNL is new-NPL.

You realize losing your best players to MLS clubs is a good thing? Provided of course that the environment is right for the kid - but it's about the top players being challenged and put in the best situations to create those challenges. If we ever want to seriously compete as a country, move your big fishes into the ocean rather than be the apex predator of their small ponds.
