The women should be focusing of FIFA and not US Socccer for the pay bumb........but then they already know they dont have a chance.

The hill.com March 10th. It is a little more than a comment. It appears to be US Soccer argument base for the upcoming court case.

They get paid by US Soccer. They argue that they make more money for US Soccer, have been competitively better then the men and are more popular. For the before mentioned reasons they believe they should be paid at least the same amount. Seems hard to argue against them to me...

I'm all for equal compensation. And I'd love for women's soccer and other womens sport's athletes to be paid more. But have you looked at the revenue/profit that Men's FIFA generates? The world cup for men brings in billions and billions. Women, not so much.
              6 billion vs. 140 million.

The US ladies team is definitely more popular than the US mens. But the rest of the world's womens teams are not. And that is the issue.

So who isn’t for equal compensation for like, like revenue and profit. Of course men should get paid more for playing soccer in England, France literally the rest of the world that supports men’s soccer over women’s. BUT in the USA women national team generates more revenue and profit than the men’s side. They both get paid from US Soccer. To say the men deserve more is pretty hypocritical. It is a free market here still in USA. You should get paid for what you create. The women have created a great product; the men side is just bad.

I'm not suggesting the men deserve more. However, the way the compensation is set up through FIFA & World Cup, they (the men) are a part of a larger pie of money, and receive a larger amount, due to being men. Fair or not, that is the way it's set up, at least from what I've read and understand.

                  Is that not correct?

So for world cup and fifa you are correct. That is part of the conversation and not a good argument for women side can be made. Larger argument is US Soccer pays 35 cents to the dollar as a contract for women as compared to men and that is without fifa money's.

So how do you fix it? Separate FIFA/World Cup pay structure from "regular" US National Team Pay? And then overcompensate US National Team pay to the women, to make up for what is a lower pay from FIFA/World Cup? That doesn't seem right or fair.

Isn't that really the issue? The women just simply are a part of a smaller pie of money when you look at worldwide events (World Cup and Olympics)?

For starters look at US National Teams as a yearly pay roll take incentive base ( world cup and Olympics) out of the picture and pay both teams the same base salary. 35c to dollar isn't ok especially when women gen more revenue and profit.

Men are also bigger, faster, and stronger. This is provable fact. Simply put, men and women are not equal physically.

That doesn’t mean women shouldn’t be entitled to equal pay but let’s not pretend like there is physical equality here.

You need to look at total dollars spent. US Soccer is right when you include the massive subsidy for women’s professional soccer in the form of pay.
