    Cut by a team

Has anyone had their kid tryout for a team that they have been cut from the previous season?

Why would you go back? Most likely it wasn't a good fit for your player and most likely that hasn't changed in the last year. There's plenty of other clubs out there. Pick one that is a good fit for your player, where they'll play a lot, be challenged and be encouraged

Yes. He's name is Michael Jordan. He went on to be the 🐐 in the NBA.

Yes because coaches change and sometimes coaches have their favorites who don’t need really deserve to be there but get to merely because of the coach..,good lesson to learn coaches are stuck, your child isn’t....

Yes. My daughter was cut, then spent a year playing on a "development" team and worked hard. Next season, not only made the team but was a starter.

What does your player want to do? Sometimes getting cut is emotionally tough to handle, while for others it makes them tougher.

It happens more often at the younger age groups, it seems. Often it can be justified and frankly there should be more cuts/demotions at older age groups too. At younger age groups, you also got rabid parents backbiting, playing politics, paying coaches for "camps" on the side, multiple siblings paying/playing. If you are not playing the game or coach decide he does not like you for any reason, your kid could be middle of the team and still be a casualty to make room for these other parents kids. You probably don't want to be playing for these clubs/coaches. They usually end up sucking and losing as they age up. Unfortunately, many fit this mold because they chase money with reindeer games.

One of mine was cut. It gave him great satisfaction to the tell them to pound sand the next year when they invited him back. Getting out made him realize there were better options out there.

Why would anybody go back to a team that cut them in the 1st place ? It would be the clubs loss, not the players. Plenty of other clubs out there.

If he moved up that means he isn't good enough to play in his own age group and the club he moved tyo didn't have enough players to field a team so he took your son. Of course you are going to say the other club was a sh!tshow and the new coach is God! Doofus!

Wow! Big comeback. I hope your son enjoys playing up on his new club. The one that can't field a full team and needs someone else's reject to do so.

Preach it brother. Most feel trapped because the local club has their local fields hijacked and they don't want to drive. Also, they don't want to leave their "friends" often.
