High School Soccer is so fast pace and really a beautiful game to watch, to much longball.
There is one key ingredient to success and that is a Big Strong Keeper, if your team has that you will have a better chance than most.

I would not say the game is beautiful with all the long ball being played. But he is right about the "Big Strong Keeper", if your team does not have a strong presence in the goal your team will struggle.
So IMO the players to watch will be the keepers, so which ones are they?

If your key to success is your keeper, then your team is weak and deserves to be defeated. Strikers and forwards are the key to victory unless you prefer the weak and lame European style of play which emphasizes defense. Attack and win. There is no other way.

you must be the "smart" person from the Providence journal that think it is necesary to post the top scoring players in the online site. As if the goals scored is the reason the teams won. You don't know a thing about futbl.

How did that work out for Shea? They sure could attack they won most of there games but when you needed a goalie well....enough said.

A good keeper will definitely give you a better chance to win, not necessarily a "big" keeper but a quick keeper is key, fast with good hands, jumping ability, and good foot skills, will give the team confidence,

Confidence is the key and if the field players have confidence that their Goalie is going to win the ball in the air from corner kicks, or any set piece they will play with confidence knowing their Goalie will do the Job in the back. A Goalie under 6' is not going to do that, he would be lost between all the field players. No coach would play a goalie just because he was "big" he must be fast with good hands, jumping ability, and good foot skills but if he can not win balls out of the air what is the point of having him back there. The teams confidence will drop quickly.
How big/tall are the goalies in D1. LaSalles, Barringtons, Sheas......
What about D2 and D3?
St Rays has a fantastic keeper. Not a big kid but very quick with great hands and feet. Hopefully they will put him in the net this year. Played him cm last two years. they probably could have beat EWG if he was in net
It is going to be hard to predict highschool. A small number of players will be going to DA clubs. Question is whether they are impact players or not. I think the large D1 programs will have enough quality players to make up for the lost players but the small D2 and D3 programs will suffer.
