And nobody really aspires to be in the RL and be the second team at a club. Soccer landscape is always changing and evolving - we will all see where it leads...

Good move on their part. It will bring much needed competition to the ECNL in this area. As consumers we should all be rooting for the success of this league.

Competition is a good thing. Moves like the ones Ukies are making -not only improves the Ukies, but also forces other local clubs (i.e., FC Bucks and Delco) to improve as well. Just look at what has happened to the youth soccer landscape in SE PA in just a few short weeks.
Unless you were willing to travel further to PDA, FC Bucks and Delco used to have a monopoly in terms of playing in an elite league and the exposure to college coaches that comes with that. Because they had a monopoly, there was no need for those clubs to continuously improve and the result was two clubs vying for last place and second to last place year after year with dismal college placements. No more, with the addition of PDA South and Penn Fusion to ECNL, and now with Ukies playing in a comparable the GDA, which is shaping up to be comparable to ECNL, everyone is being forced to up their game.
