Where will Seacoast DA teams end up?

It's unlikely that Seacoast will bring their DA teams back into NPL, as the knock on effect of demoting all other players wouldn't be good for their sales pitch, so where will they end up?

Discussions in other threads suggest they might form a 'Northeast GAL' division along with:

    South Shore
    NEFC
    Oakwood
    New York SC
    Long Island
    STA DA
    Cedar Stars

    On the girls side.

Good move, or a desperate attempt to keep their DA team in a 'super-elite' league (even if it doesn't compare to ECNL).

Looks like this has just been confirmed on the NEFC Facebook page

Is this GAL independent or part of a larger national league? What exposure opportunities are there? Are SUSC 2nd teams still NPL or is there another level?

It's a new 'top tier' for Development Player League (which was initially set up as a regional girls DA 'B' league).

So yes it's part of a new national structure, but looks like ENCL remains top tier.

If this is not part of a National league that will have large guaranteed showcases, how is it worth being a part of? The quality of the teams in the NorthEast does not seem worth the travel without the draw of the National events

It will have National Events, in the same way that other clubs can attend US Club Nationals or US Youth Soccer Regionals and Nationals.

            ECNL

I see Seacoast are already touting it as the next 'Elite' league, despite it being second tier at best.

It doesn't take a Nostradamus to predict what happens next.

ECNL is again the undisputed champion of Girls soccer. Boys is still in the balance, but I expect the upcoming MLS Boys League will take that title.

Great time (pandemic and depression) to start another league to replace the one that already failed. Who wrote their business plan?

Absolutely - it will be MLS and all the rest. It was already pretty much that since non MLS teams were already relegated to B teams, now it's just official.

Unfortunately their business plan is sound. Convince hard working families to overpay for a substandard product by dazzling them with words like:

Is there another product in the area within reasonable driving? No

Pretty much sums it up. The other options within reasonable driving distance are even less inviting.

Exactly! The only other established club in NH, is GPS and one has to wonder how long they will be around for?

I hold no ill-will towards GPS as after spending several years there, I look back on it as a mixed-bag but some of the experiences were excellent. LW in particular did right by my daughter and she will always respect him and appreciate him.

That being said, about 4 years ago some changes in the Club's girls left it decimated. With the overall issue at GPS from a corporate level, one does have to wonder about what is next for them.

Getting to Stars in MA isn't an option for us, and it's been explored when we discussed it with them a few years back. SUSC is working out. I won't lie and say it's been all roses, and the DA program has been mostly good (reiterate - "mostly"). Have no interest in leaving, personally.
