Give it a week or two when these folks start decompressing from their Stockholm Syndrome imprisonment and realize that ECNL is really the only game in town for high level soccer for girls. It's ok. Give them time to rant, vent, and snarl at people. Their girls will see the change and relax themselves, too.

Sigh. Heh. You know, parents...your little princess will grow up, hopefully leave for college, and become a strong and thoughtful young woman. Time is ticking and your timeline does not match the bullsh1t games these greedy b@stards soccer leagues are trying to pull money from your pocket.
But hey, life is about choices and ownership of those choices. These charlatans are putting out the bait and suckers are the ones biting. Good luck.

And do you think a quality league can be formed overnight?
What are the conferences?
What are the Showcases and where?
What is seasonal calendar?
What is status with high school soccer and regions being on different schedules?
What are the rules and standards?
What is cost?
Who is the leadership?
Sorry but this is just another shot in the dark!!!

ECNL’s own fault if they prefer to keep some of their old timers free from competition than to actually unify the game (and thereby ultimately make more money for ECNL), but if they don’t there are more than enough clubs out there around the country for this league to be viable. They’ve said they will allow hs, have more flexible sub rules, have showcases and national playoffs.
Also, direct quote from the Soccer Wire article:
"For clubs that are already part of the DPL – which was created in 2017 specifically for Girls DA clubs who wanted to expand their player pools with a second-tier of competition – one option for next season will be to simply move their entire elite player pools into DPL’s new venture.
Over the past couple seasons, the DPL has served as a competition platform for teams composed of part-time Girls DA players and players who were training with a DA program, but were not able to make the game day rosters."
So, while DPL may someday become a league with the caliber of players/teams that were in DA, it certainly will not be from the start.
And still... for clubs that are in the Pacific Northwest, still doesn't address the challenge of league play and travel that clubs in the DPL would be faced with.

And the clubs you mention I am sure would jump to ECNL if they could get acceptance. How do you validate them as top 10 clubs? Tophat and Legends are quality clubs for sure based on history. Earthquakes are not a top club. They had one special team. And Beach isnt even top 5 in their state. Wait your probably going by soccer rankings.. LOL!
Bottom line, all the clubs that have to go this path are gonna advocate for this league to enhance it and get more club stability. But please do not sell a league formed over a weekend on a zoom call a top league platform. This is just a desperate move in response to the DA folding and finding an option.

Earthquakes are done. So what happens when ECNL poaches a few more of the top clubs whether this year or next?

ECNL Rosters are FULL
As a parent who made the decision a few years ago to keep my kid on her RCL (now ECNL) team - i don’t feel relieved we made the “right” choice. It was what worked for us with multiple kids, playing multiple sports, etc.
I will say, with no glee at all, that Reign parents who read the writing on the wall started to reach out to ECNL Club DOC’s two weeks ago. Don’t wait for someone to come courting your kid unless she was one of the top 4-5 players in her age group on Reign (you would probably know by now where you will be next year).
Reach out to coaches & parents at clubs (ECNL, RCL, PSPL, whatever) you are interested in. They are too busy figuring out virtual tryouts to find you. Advocate for your kid vs waiting for a Unicorn League to appear. At this point, most rosters at the top level are full, so don’t just sit & wait for the phone to ring. Swallow your pride, sign up for “tryouts” and let your player prove it on the pitch!
