    Competitive RI club teams

Are there any RI club teams (any age group) left that can compete with the top teams in MA, CT, NH, etc. or have all the top talent moved to out of state club teams?

All the top talent over to out of state club teams.

Is that the answer you were looking for?

Rhode Island does not have top teams on the girls side and on the boys side there couple young teams that can compete with the MA, CT and NH teams. Too bad not enough parents with players agreeing to form teams that can compete with MA, CT and NH.

Trolling is fine, very commonplace on TS.com but New Hampshire?? Really, New Hampshire??

Seems when teams from NH and RI play, it's pretty one-sided overall (few outliers of course).

          OP has a valid point.

How many DA are based in RI? Seacoast has full DA. No RI club has that. The highest league any RI club plays in is NPL and that is Bayside. NH has multiple clubs playing in NPL. RI clubs can barely get out of their own way in NEP and NESL/Maple...

Scary when Bayside is considered the shining example of a club in a state....

Bayside is well represents on the DA on the boys side. They are the only DA U12 club in RI. Obvious, RI just doesn’t have the numbers to compete with the likes of MA, CT and NH on the regular base because of players movement. However, if not for the pettiness of parents RI could make the argument for its own full DA program. RI top players have carried MA teams for the better part on their top teams. You may not like Bayside for one reason or others, but they are pretty good at player development based solely on their track records.

Drunk parents still manning the sidelines and getting ready to fight child refs? That kind of development?

State borders don’t exist in premier soccer. Bayside has ability to draw kids from outside of MA. The RI doesn’t have the numbers argument holds no water. Bayside loses kids to MA clubs because the big MA clubs are more professionally managed and don’t have parent coaches.

NEFC/BBA South also has a RI based 04 Girls team that plays NPL.

I wish US Soccer mandated a youth system similar to the European club system where it is limited or restricted to localities. You can only play for your local clubs. Doing so will force local players to play only in a local clubs. European system developed pride and support and centralized development locally. In doing encourage local concentration of talents. I for one always believe with good coaches any young players can be develope.

NEFC is a MA based club. That 2004 South team is made up of some RI girls and some MA girls. Considering they train out of Durfee in Fall River, Wheeler in Seekonk and Taunton Forekicks, I wouldn't begin to call that a RI team.
