Most states allow biological males who identify as females to play on the girls teams.

Can you imagine a coach putting openly gay 17yr old males as bed mates in hotels and hear that 2 we’re having sex on team trips? Doubt it would be considered no big deal like it is on the girls side.

You are both partially right. There are much fewer gay male athletes than lesbian female athletes. There are also many more male to female transgender athletes than there are trans female to male athletes. True though that it is much scarier and less accepting for gay male athletes to come out so we don’t hear much about the ones there are. While the numbers are much fewer than lesbians (about half of every team), there are definitely gay male athletes out there.

here's a thought - Hope Solo had no trouble whatsoever telling the world about issues with the team. I don't recall her every complaining about this player romance being an issue.

Stop being an old upright dad. Most girls handle it all fine with no issues at all. They look at it all very differently than we do or did when we were their age.

These two are solid and no drama.

It does bring up an interesting question though: is it ok for youth travel club players to date? What about coaches assigning girls to share a double bed in a hotel room when one or both is gay? My dd isn’t gay but half her team is. She and we don’t care but there has been some dating and some team dating drama but no major problems. However, let’s just say it’s awkward to be four girls to a room and have two in the bed next to you that are dating and the one in your bed gay and with a crush on you.... Awkward but let me be clear, the gay teammates have hooked up with each other but never forced anything with the straight girls.
