    The Ghost of Charlie Clive

(sing to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun", specifically the Animals' version)

There is a ghost in Hillsboro
    They call him Charlie Clive
They say he's the best coach in old Oregon
    Better than any alive

His daddy was a sailing man
And he played for West Ham U.
And he pitched his flag upon the bluff
    And many greats came through

Now the only things a keeper needs
Are quick hands and a strong punt
And the only time Clive is satisfied
Is when it's kicked up front

He had no use for Latin ball
    And fancy dribbling tricks
"Why do we need a midfield when
We can score from our own six?"

Yes, playing from the back is for suckers
Just hoof it up into space
We may not beat 'em with our skill
But we'll beat 'em with our pace!

    Football's not for sissies
It's a game for women and men
Every player should be sent off
    Every now and then

I've got one foot on the sideline
And one foot on the pitch
And I'm headed back to Liberty High
    To catch that golden snitch

There is a ghost in Hillsboro
    They call him Charlie Clive
They say he's the best coach in old Oregon
    Better than any alive
