GDA and Ecnl are more similar than different and it’s good to have them both competing for players in Oregon.
Agree! Here’s to all the Oregon girls getting it done in Gda or ecnl or OYSA! Enjoy all the games this weekend. It’s over too soon and, unless, they are going to a local college, your kid will be off to college and you won’t get to see them much at all. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Currently it’s not? Does DA have more top clubs than ECNL having Crossfire Premier, Slammers, PDA, Hawks, Concorde Fire, Eclipse, FC Stars, Mustang, MVLA, Dallas Sting? These were consistently the top clubs in ECNL prior to DA. Who are the top ones in DA? Real CO has always been a top 8 club in the country, and they have been rumored to be leaving DA next. Surf, FC Dallas and Legends are other ones I can think of with DA.

Clarify your opinion how DA is currently the top league. You sound like a clueless moron.

Tell that to all the girls who were cut at CU last year.

They can be found at the B teams of wusc and losc. Just like any other local youth club.

To be specific kids do leave CU & FC PDX absolutely every year and even during the season. Not sure 'cut' is the right word when their former best players join the Thorns DA like they did last year and again this year. Both clubs have to replenish the roster with pay to travel customers and the pickings are slim due to the outrageous travel spend and time away from their home state. How'good' the yearly new additions are at soccer is really not the relevant given the situation. A work around due to the low travel commits the clubs have many current kids will be dual rostered on multiple teams on road trips due to this perpetual challenge. Kids do in fact leave, don't know a single one in recent years who has been 'cut' they are just too dam hard to replace ($$$$). I sure hope this 'cut' labeling isn't part of the sour grapes attitude that was on display when they left in droves. But it sounds par for the course.

If US Club ever recaptures even 50% of the 70 clubs that left for the DA in 2017 we will all know they went back to this league just based on Oregon's Club Standings. If Oregon clubs are both in the cellar of their division then US Club got the DA clubs back. Currently this is not even the case. So a resounding NO for now. But things change. If they change and the US Club league is back to their former self of a few years ago then expect the Oregon Clubs will be booted out based on their cellar standing. For now they get to play other non-elite clubs regularly since the DA has a such an elite majority of clubs Nationwide. For the time being as long as our neighborhood clubs in this league can cover the travel costs they are safe in this league. One thing the DA did positive for US Club is it made them rethink standards for entry if the tide turns their direction. Which sucks for the Oregon Clubs but gives the league at least some integrity going forward. Right now their is no barrier to entry to the league other than a promissory note to pay to travel, which is reassuring for Oregonians.

GDA has very few of the top teams left. All the best are going back to ECNL.

GDA just missed the mark on their league policies. Live and learn.

The girls DA is now third tier.

Even the Timbers kids soccer staff figured this out and pushed thorns to Westside. They didn't want to be holding the bag when the music stopped.

If this is true do you think the DA would consider now taking CU & FC? Since they are yukking it up in the stinky US Club ecnl leftover division these days? Why can't all the 70 or so of the nation's best clubs just stay in the DA? US Club finally has a league of subpar clubs that are willing to pay to travel and of course it includes Oregonians. I hope you are just making this up, because the DA wouldn't take the clubs when they started two years ago, OYSA might consider letting them indue to their demonstrated love of recreational HS Soccer.

I don’t like crossfire United in the least but they could make a case to be in the da over the thorns or the other clubs.

They have families to fund it and the teams to keep it going.

Fc Portland is a joke and they aren’t any better than anyone.

I dislike them for the amount of smoke and mirrors they put out trying to sell to everyone they are better than what they are and that you need them.

Ecnl is back to top dog but GDA should be even smaller. Instead of adding in low level clubs when clubs like Slammers and Crossfire leave...they really should consider doing a few residential da/GDA programs in the hotness of Texas and Southern California. Ecnl is for 99.9% of girls whose end goal is college. GDA is really only for the .1% that want & have the potential to go to the national team. Ecnl is better for 99.9% of the girls. GDA is better for that .1% That’s why top clubs are moving back or stayed in ecnl - better for 99.9% of their members.

If any of this was true girls would be attending classes via a residency setup at club. If going college was truly the goal. Since all the useless travel keeps them out the classroom and in this sport for girls grades get you to college especially in this outlier low talent sports that has much more athletic aid to spend than qualified candidates to recieve. Better grades and test scores mean so much since the actual talent is scooped up early with tons of roster spots needing to be filled.

Title IX creates a supply and demand imbalance, massive
cattle call showcases feed this predictament and soccer development goes out the window, pay to travel is a non starter for Oregonians, no attraction for a girl with great grades and ability.. the coaches seek them out, not the other way around where the not so talented girl attends events praying for a roster spot at a low level d2 school.

Oregon clubs never have the opportunity to move back to the lower level US Club or USYS we have no top club in a category.

You frame a narrative that has nothing to do with any club in Oregon.

Are you speaking about some other area of the country?
