have you watched any womans games on TV? any ncaa and or pro womans games? you can pretty much count the fans in the stands fairly quickly.

In the end the USA is not a soccer 1st country....the men already (for the most part) get paid sh-t as pro players on mls teams compared to others in Europe.
They can sink or swim on their own. If the sponsors want a piece of all the money generated in World cup and Olympic years, they can agree to some arrangement concerning the NWSL as well.

ussf is never going to let them go (so its a mute point)...the womans lawsuit (although a noble fight) they will never win...the money is just not there to support it. pretty much nobody goes to watch a live womans game for ncaa or nwsl. Barely no body watches a womans game on tv....so where is the money going to come from?

If they go on there own, who is going to financially support this?

"Barely no body wstches a womans game on tv?" The ratings for the WWC would dispute that.

Very very strong during the Olympic years and the media right during those word cups are very very valuable. Enough to carry though the lean years.

Lean years for who? NT players only? Thats not sustainable. Have you see attendance figures? This desire to take womens national team soccer out of the context of womes soccer is self serving at best. Its all about feathering the nest for a select group of individuals. Its all about monetizing nationalism. Its why the WNT is full of politically motivated tenured vets.

The only way to pay women more money in a sustainable way is to build a real league where there is demand to watch. A league where a player can make a good living y simply being good at the game without having to be on the WNT.

correct...the market is simply not demanding enough for the womans game all year every year for pro teams. the WC and Olympics is not enough.

The women are only big at the Olympics and World Cup. Their friendlies and shebelieve tour have very low ratings and only decent fans in the stand immediately following the Olympics and World Cup. There are no Olympic qualifying games and there are only 5 qualifying games for the world cup and even those get terrible ratings.. Three weeks of well watched soccer over a four year period won't sustain anything.

Let them go ussf. Let them sink or swim on their own. The revenue from the Olympics and the world cups is very significant and can support the league in the off years even if it has to contract to fewer teams. The current situation is horrible and is turning young female players (and some male players) against the federation. Time for a significant change

Umm, because the She Believes Cup is aired on ESPN News (???) with absolutely zero marketing and promotion. I am in the publicity business and I can say first hand, whoever does the publicity for USSF would be fired by any other organization that had half a clue!

Are you implying that where an event is shown is not correlated to the perception of what the demand is? You think that simply pitting it on a better channel and upping marketing will attract enough viewers to offset that opportunity cost? This is the blind thinking behind this trial in the court of public opinion. In a business motivated by money, if anyone thought that there was money in doing this, they would do it.

Fwiw, the SHE BELIEVES matches at Red Bulls Stadium were sold out, as were other locations. No question it was under-marketed.
