Looking for info and advice.
Has anyone had any success in bartering with places like STA, MF, PSA, PDA on delaying of accepting a spot? Does having talent make this possible? Does it matter more by position?
Which clubs require the full monetary commitment as part of acceptance contract?
I have noticed the trend of moving up tryouts to now late march in the case of STA, PSA and MF still haven't seen anything for PDA, CSA or NJ Premier. It looks like they are just all trying to get to the talent pool first and make you commit and then from what I have read they don't necessarily honor that commitment.
It seems to me that talent recruitment has become much more important than actual development at most these clubs. I am interested to know how much leverage does parent have with a very talented child and is it in her best interests to tryout at a number of places? I have seen some of the most established clubs end up adding girls to top team as late as August.
Child will be U12, still very young. No college aspirations so not league dependent decision. Open minded to being at a better town club and investing time and money into other training options as well. Anyone know of a super coach for the 09 girls age bracket in central or northern nj? Would rather have her develop over time and see what she is capable of in a few more years but worry about developing speed on the ball in the meantime. The more established clubs seem to have the faster pace of play and more aggressive girls. She plays top flight now and not dissatisfied with current club but not overly impressed either.
Just seems to be there has to be someone doing this well somewhere.
