Both clubs are $2000 per year.

I didn't go to the initial meeting but heard back that it was $7000-$8000 per year?? Are you on scholarship? How is it only $2000?? Does that include kid and parent travel?

Most clubs have fundraising strategies to help fund assistance. It's rarely a question of subsidization.

Assuming on the high side it's $10,000 per girl, 18 girls, you are only looking at $180,000 x 2 teams $360,000 per year for the Portland teams. That is barely a hiccup when you are talking a billion dollars.

Don't think Nike really cares about a few more wins. However a great percentage of kids in PDX ecnl have a family tie to Nike. That may have an impact. But a team in Colorado of u15 girls who win 4 more games a year than a local team probably wouldn't raise an eyebrow.

Obviously you aren't a business person. You may talk millions or billions of dollars but it is all budgeted and even 1.2 million (360,000x4) is a significant deviation from budget.

Yeah but what if Apple hadn't budgeted the money for the iphone? Big companies like that have a slush fund for new stuff. I bet it's a big slush fund like in the millions or billions of dollars. How would they have made the ipad or iphone without a slush fund? Now they are laughing on the drive to the bank. A few million is nothing to them.
