It has not been very good. They were very aggressive with recruiting this year. Told parents they needed to commit to offers at beginning of May or risk losing spots. Spots are still available folks.

The reason FSA boys are so talented is that for them it was simply a badge change. All of their players were already in one spot. They got a new badge and it was business as usual. They didn’t have to create new teams and their boys teams were already good.
The CFC branch model creates this problem. Their net is wide, but they need to convince the best players at all branches to come to Bethany. The former CFC north “United” boys teams were only the best players in that part of the state.
In a nutshell, the girls United program has been around for 10 years, boys just started essentially 5 months ago. The girls program is truly United, for the boys, the talent is split. Until that changes, the results will not be great.

With the boys, the talent is split between ECNL and NPL North. It wasn’t just a badge change. Many former NPL players stayed in NPL North and some went ECNL. The distance between the North hole base and the new United home base scared off some good players. Since the boys ECNL is basically a brand new league, I’d give it two years and CFC will get things sorted out on the boys side and truly aggregate talent at United. All of the United Boys teams are essentially brand new teams that had to be created.
