Here's the thing. If Kavanaugh is innocent you'd think he'd be screaming for an investigation to clear his name. So should the GOP. But they're running away from it. I was indifferent to the guy before but find that suspect.

This case has really touched a nerve with my wife, sister and it seems many women they know. They all have their own tales of unwanted sexual advances from men, from hitting on them non stop to unwanted touching and much, much worse. It was only recently that society has been more encouraging to get more women to come forward. Unfortunately there's often times not enough evidence for a conviction (much better now with DNA testing but not back then) and when found guilty often times the sentences are a joke. Face it, in the 80's if a girl went to the police accusing a white kid attending a posh Catholic school it's highly unlikely the police would take it seriously? Also, as pointed out back then it would have been a misdemeanor. Today in some states it might get you registered as a sex offender. We've come a long way since then but unfortunately also still have a long way to go

Today it's a misdemeanor, at least in Maryland.
