US Club out at FYSA tournaments

If you are a US Club carded coach you will not be able to participate at any FYSA approved tournament. If you have both FYSA and US Club cards you are good to go.

Meeting was online today. BOD voted to exclude US Club carded coaches because US Club doesn't follow FL law for background checks.

So US Club coaches can't bring their teams to Disney?

Players are ok but if the coach only has a US Club pass they can not participate in any FYSA approved tournament.

FYSA doesn’t dictate who gets into Disney. So if your team is US Club only and the coach only has a US Club pass, the team will still be able to participate.

Disney is not a FYSA sanctioned event.

Yeah, isn't it FYSA that has to approve of tournaments in FL after an Application to Host is made to FYSA?

                      Sanctioning body

As a sanctioning body FYSA can dictate acceptance criteria for legal reasons. US Club is not following FL laws on background checks. FYSA isn't going to assume any liabilities for that and it's a smart move on their part. US Club needs to be compliant with FL law. Who wants half ass background checks when it comes to kids?

US Club is now adding the option of FDLE background check to the Florida Coach background check. It is an added cost ($30) so only the clubs that want it have to do it. In my experience, the US Club background check is much more thorough - it caught a couple of coaches that the FYSA background check did not. US Club's background is a national check whereas FYSA's is only a statewide one.

The law states a National background check has to be done every year, which FYSA does. US Club does it every 2 years. The FL statute says "The sanctioning body (US Club) will require the FDLE check. US Club gave that option to the clubs which is not IAW with the law. Nice try.
Players are not as safe with US Club compared to FYSA.

Who gave you a lawyer's license? It is just like the concussion test that FYSA requires. It has to be taken every two years.

The law states National checks are to be done every year. FYSA is meeting all requirements, US Club isn't, that's why US Carded coaches can not participate in FYSA sanctioned tournaments. Do you think FYSA would do that if they didn't verify what US Club was doing? Stop trying to support an entity that doesn't follow the law and puts kids at risk.
