In terms of strictly level of play, Your a fool for thinking that. If your not up for the travel that’s one thing, but that level of play is clear that DPL / NPL is behind ecnl regional league

Whole new ball game when soccer resumes. DA is dead. All the strong former DA Clubs are now in ECNL.
1. Tophat - GAL
2. Solar - ECNL
3. PDA - ECNL
4. So Cal Blues - ECNL
5. FC Dallas – ECNL
6 San Diego Surf - ECNL
7. Real Colorado - ECNL
8. Legends FC - ECNL-RL
9. Beach FC - ECNL-RL
10. San Jose Earthquakes - Folded
11. Concorde Fire - ECNL
12. Michigan Hawks - ECNL
13. MVLA - ECNL
14. LAFC Slammers - ECNL
15. NC Courage - ECNL
16. FC Virginia - GAL (B teams ECNL-R)
17. San Juan SC - ECNL
18. SLSG (MO) - ECNL
19. Mustang SC - ECNL
20. Eclipse SC - ECNL
21. Sting SC - ECNL
22. Real So Cal - ECNL
23. Ohio Premier - ECNL
24. Crossfire Premier - ECNL
25. NEFC - GAL
Read any of the national boards. The remaining GA clubs (Top Hat, Lonestar, etc.) are bleeding players (and in some cases whole teams) to ECNL, which is starting a chain reaction of knocking weaker ECNL players down to ECNL regional league.
ECNL regional league was in its first year last year. There will be a massive nationwide expansion this year. All the ECNL clubs B teams, plus GA clubs trying to get into ECNL (FC Virginia, Sporting Blue Valley) will bolster the league. If ECNL can deliver the same showcase format for the regional league like it does with ECNL, in 18 months 90% of the top end talent will be in ECNL & ECNL regional league. That is the plan and they have the business savvy to execute it.
The GAL is ambitious but if you actually look at the club map, the travel is not sustainable in over half its conferences. SE, Midwest, Frontier & NW will require plane travel for league games. IF USSF couldn't take down ECNL (and make no mistake, that's what it tried to do), good luck to GAL. If ECNL ever actually viewed GAL as a threat it would just grab 8-10 key clubs and the league would collapse. The fact it hasn't speaks volumes.
DPL is teams who should be playing in the NEP.

More aptly GAL is a life raft. The GDA sunk. Any former GDA club who could, got into ECNL. GAL is the clubs that couldn't get in.

Question: Do you think clubs not in ECNL but in ECRL will put their first teams there in hopes that ECNL sees them commit to the league in hopes of getting in next year? Possibly a behind doors (Zoom) handshake agreement? If these clubs in ECRL and GAL put second teams in GAL, that would be embarrassing for that league and probably a death blow.

What am I missing here?
Your missing that scorpions 06 beat Select 06 DA at T-Day
Your missing that stars 05 beat select 05 DA the year prior
Your missing that scorpions 05 beat select 05 DA the year prior
But other than that, you’ve got a good narrower minded head on your shoulders kid

Put down the crack pipe. Show us some examples of SSS/NEFC second teams beating ECNL teams. I’ll wait.

MA GA and NPL teams are strong compared to weaker ECNL teams because those in charge refuse to offer additional ECNL and ECNL-r teams in MA/RI.

If you want to chase D1 go to ECNL or GA.
If you choose to play ECRL (and travel all over the eastern seaboard for the same or worse level of play as DPL or NPL) you are a fool.
