    Hypocrisy

NEP board member clubs want the entire NEP membership to show solidarity, commit to the league and most importantly not to enter teams into NECSL, CCL or EDP.

Bolts, South Shore and NEFC leading the charge. Between them those clubs play in ECNL, ECRL, MLS-EYDP, GAL & DPL. The hypocrisy is astounding!

Of course, they want to keep all of their power over the smaller clubs

Nothing NEP can do now. It’s going to become much smaller and less competitive.

Well first they have to show solidarity and commitment themselves. These men/clubs will go after each other with the slightest provocation. They will be eating each other’s young within 6 months. SC held this league together for years. He has now left and they are running scared. The new league that he is starting will likely surpass NEP within 1-2 years. This is going to be fun to watch.

Wow! It sure sounds like youth club soccer in Massachusetts is a hot mess right now?

The ever changing landscape. NEP will definitely lose a couple of teams out of this mess. Not sure that is a bad thing. With the juggernaut that EDP is they only need a small crack. They have a lot to offer clubs and are staffed to do it.

Do as I say not as I do. The fact that BA and LL are board members blows my mind. They will do everything they can to control the situation. Worse thing NEP could have done.

Dream on. The nep is perfect for 90% of teams. Lower level, convenient.

When these smaller leagues only have 4 clubs per age group, what will happen. Yeah, correct you’ll be driving half way across the state. If the clubs all stay in the nep you have sc league fighting the ccl, should be a rollercoaster.

Correction - the NEP works for about 25% of clubs, the ones that make up the board. Outside of those guys you'll find that many clubs are there simply because there was nowhere else to go. "Stay loyal to NEP while we play in 4-5 other leagues". What a joke!

NEP is all about the clubs on the board having control. Problem is those clubs can't even agree on how to control the rest. Closed leagues are not good. It has always only been a matter of time before it collapsed.

Based on posts in multiple threads it would seem that the Spring season will be cancelled. Seems like the NEP is simply waiting for all of the clubs to come up with a refund policy and for the NEP to reign in all of the clubs so that they are all on the same page before they make their official announcement. Another prime example that the larger clubs run the NEP is the fact that RDL/EYSL offers have been going out. If a season was still being played how could these clubs be reaching out to parents from clubs that don't participate in these leagues. Just announce the season cancellation, provide us with your refund policy and allow parents to decide what is best for children.

SC doesn't do anything. Every league meeting is the same, 'hey guys, this is a league run by you, I have no say'
